Badflower Rocks Revolution Live
The Fast Rising California Rock Band Ignites the Crowd With An Incredible Performance – Review and Photos of the Badflower Concert at the Revolution Live in Ft Lauderdale, Florida
Young fans were lined up around the block this Sunday for a chance to see Badflower close up and in your face, as opposed to the usual festival settings they play. The band made their triumphant return to Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale, bringing their signature mix of modern pop-punk aesthetics and gritty sound to a packed house, and leaving the crowd in awe of their captivating stage presence. Badflower brought their A-Game both in terms of their performance and their tour-mates, with stellar opening performances by Missio and Slothrust, both of whom set the perfect tone for the evening.

Kicking off the night, Missio brought their unique brand of electronic rock to the stage. The Austin-based duo, comprised of Matthew Brue and David Butler, infused the night with pulsating beats and infectious energy. Missio’s mix of moody electronics and driving rhythms, highlighted in songs like “Twisted” and “Good Vibrations”, created a consummate aura of enjoyment in the crowd. Missio’s distinctive blend of industrial soundscapes was a perfect introduction to the evening, setting the stage for what was to come.

Next up was Slothrust, who took to the stage with their grunge-infused, indie rock sound. Lead singer Leah Wellbaum commanded the crowd’s attention with her brooding vocals and dynamic guitar work, while the rest of the band’s beating rhythms mesmerized the venue. Tracks like “Surf Goth” and “Cranium” had the audience swaying to the unique mix of heavy riffs, gritty rock and offbeat yet introspective lyrics. Slothrust finished up their time on stage with a cover of Ginuwine’s “Pony” and their most well known song, “Crackpot” as the crowd vibed along with the band.

As the lights dimmed once again and Badflower emerged, the energy in the venue reached a fever pitch. Opening with the explosive track “Teacher Has A Gun”, the band wasted no time drawing the audience into their world of angst and catharsis. The band’s frontman Josh Katz was a force on stage, pouring every ounce of emotion into his performance. His vulnerable, confessional lyrics paired with his raw vocal intensity were a highlight throughout the set, especially on tracks like “Don’t Hate Me” and “Cry”.

The setlist showcased a range of fan favorites from their albums OK, I’m Sick and This Is How the World Ends. Songs like “Move Me” and “The Jester” had the crowd singing along with fervor, while slower, emotionally charged numbers like “Adolescent Love” created moments of intimacy between Katz and the audience. Guitarist Joey Morrow, bassist Alex Espiritu, and drummer Anthony Sonetti complemented Katz’s intensity with tight, powerful musicianship, adding layers of depth to each song. One of the standout moments of the night came during “Stalker”, where Katz’s fierce delivery and the band’s extended soloing had the crowd in a frenzy.

Badflower closed the night with their most famous songs “Detroit“, “30” and “Girlfriend“, leaving the audience both exhilarated and exhausted. The band’s ability to combine personal, often painful, experiences with high-energy rock made for a deeply resonant performance, and Josh Katz’s heartfelt connection with the audience was clear, as he thanked the fans for their support and shared moments of reflection between songs. The concert was an unforgettable experience, with Missio and Slothrust proving to be perfect complements to Badflower’s intense headlining set.
