The Kings of Modern Heavy Music Deliver a Devilish Night of Unforgettable Metalcore Madness to South Florida – Photos and Review of the Fit for a King & The Devil Wears Prada Concert at the Revolution Live in Ft Lauderdale, FL

The South Florida metalcore scene was set ablaze on a muggy October Tuesday when the incredible duo of Fit for a King and The Devil Wears Prada took the stage at Revolution Live. This explosive concert featured two heavyweights of the genre, fittingly titled the “Metalcore Dropouts” tour, and it was nothing short of epic. To add to the excitement, up and coming bands Counterparts and Landmvrks served as the perfect appetizers for a night filled with bone-crushing breakdowns and soaring melodies.

The evening kicked off with Landmvrks, a French metalcore band that brought their unique blend of intensity and emotion to the stage. Their high-energy performance had the crowd instantly engaged, with their catchy hooks and crushing breakdowns leaving a lasting impression. Landmvrks’ vocalist displayed raw emotion with every word, and their seamless interaction with the audience set the tone for the night.

Counterparts followed, hailing from Canada and well-known for their intense live shows. True to their reputation, they unleashed a ferocious set that had the pit in a constant state of frenzy. They mostly displayed songs from their most recent album A Eulogy For Those Still Here, as well as a few other tracks from all over their discography. The combination of Counterparts’ aggressive stage presence and intricate guitar work made for an unforgettable performance that definitely lived up to their reputation.

After the two opening bands finished up, the boys from Fit for a King finally stormed the stage bringing their signature blend of melodic hooks and punishing breakdowns. The crowd erupted as they opened with fan-favorite tracks like “Annihilation” and “Breaking the Mirror“. Fit for a King’s singer Ryan Kirby had an incredibly commanding stage presence, and the band effortlessly delivered a set mainly culled from their last three albums Dark Skies, The Path and The Hell We Create that was filled with a perfect balance of heavy and melodic moments. The breakdowns were earth-shattering, and the soaring clean vocals provided by the rest of the band added a layer of emotional depth to their performance.

Finally, The Devil Wears Prada took the stage and the crowd roared in approval. Singer Mike Hranica kicked off the party with “Exhibition” and wasted no time in launching into an electrifying set that showcased the band’s impressive musical prowess. The band’s energy was infectious, with guitarists Kyle and Jeremy dancing like madmen across the stage and swinging around their instruments while shredding. Mike also went into the crowd multiple times while singing, and the audience was hanging on every word as he belted out classics like “Danger: Wildman” and “Outnumbered“. The band mostly showcased songs from their latest album Color Decay, but also left room in the set for some deep cuts and even a cover of Excision’sReasons“. The awesome light show and stage design added another immersive dimension to the concert, enhancing the experience with strobes and smoke. The crowd, a mix of die-hard fans and newcomers, moshed and sang along with equal fervor, creating an electric atmosphere that can only be found at a metalcore show of this caliber. The band finished up their time on stage with another classic banger, “Hey John, Whats Your Name Again?” as the sweat-drenched crowd jumped in the moshpit one last time.

Fit for a King and The Devil Wears Prada leave no doubt that they are titans of the metalcore genre, and their performances were nothing short of a relentless onslaught of metalcore brilliance. The combination of Counterparts and Landmvrks as opening acts was also a spectacular addition to an already stacked lineup. With unforgettable performances from all the bands and an audience that was fully immersed in the experience, it was a night that showcased the power of live music to unite and electrify fans. If you ever have the chance to witness these bands live, don’t hesitate – it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.
