Sublime With Rome and Face to Face Explode on stage!
Two Worlds Collide as Face to Face’s Punk Energy Meets Sublime with Rome’s Reggae Rhythms at Jupiter’s Abacoa Amphitheater.
October 25th, 2024
Face to Face and Sublime with Rome lit up the night, delivering a powerful one-two punch of punk rock and reggae-infused rhythms that kept fans on their feet from start to finish. It was a celebration of two legendary bands, each bringing their unique sound and loyal fans together for a high-energy show.
Face to Face opened the evening with a relentless set that took fans straight back to the 90s, pulling from their iconic albums Don’t Turn Away, Big Choice, and their self-titled release. They wasted no time diving into crowd favorites like “Blind” and “Walk the Walk,” kicking off the night with their signature punk grit. With each song, the energy climbed, as tracks like “A-OK,” “Bill of Goods,” “Ordinary,” “I Won’t Lie Down” and “It’s Not Over” had fans shouting along and fist-pumping to every beat. “No Way Out But Through” from the band’s most recent album of the same name also made its rounds. Trever Keith and the crew wrapped things up with a bang, closing their set with the anthem “Disconnected” and leaving the audience buzzing, primed for the next act.

As soon as Sublime With Rome took the stage, the vibe shifted to a laid-back, reggae-rock groove, perfectly balancing the punk fire from Face to Face. Rome Ramirez led the band through a dynamic set that honored Sublime’s legendary tracks while adding his own modern twist. He gave fans plenty of nostalgia with classics like “April 29, 1992 (Miami),” “Smoke Two Joints,” and “Doin’ Time,” drawing wild cheers from the packed crowd. But it wasn’t just about the old hits—Ramirez made sure to bring his own legacy into the mix, performing tracks he’s created with the band over his 15-year journey, including “Cool & Collected” and “Take It or Leave It.”
“Holiday,” a reflective piece marking Rome’s 15 years with the band, brought an introspective moment that the audience could feel. Soon after, the band paid a heartfelt tribute to Grateful Dead legend Phil Lesh, who recently passed, with a soulful version of “Scarlet Begonias.” The set’s nostalgic highlights continued during the band’s encore with fan-favorites like “Badfish,” “Wrong Way” and the high-energy closer, “Santeria,” each one bringing waves of cheers from the crowd.

There was something for everyone as Sublime with Rome went from reggae grooves to rock and ska anthems, even throwing in covers like Lee Fields’ “Forever” and the Fishbone classic “Skankin’ to the Beat.”
With both bands bringing their A-game, the evening was a perfect fusion of punk and reggae-rock that had everyone from die-hard 90s fans to new listeners singing along. Just a solid night mixed with raw thunderous energy and infectious grooves.
