The Miami Takeover Returns This Month, Will Celebrate 50 Years of Go-Go Music and Cultural Art at The Art of Go-Go Culture Fest.

July 1st, 2025

The 17th Annual Miami Takeover is returning to Miami Beach at the end of this month to celebrate 50 years of go-go music and Black creativity in collaboration with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) for its main event: The Art of Go-Go Culture Fest, scheduled rain or shine for Saturday, July 26th, from 5PM to 10PM at the iconic Miami Beach Bandshell (7275 Collins Avenue) featuring live performances from the legendary Junkyard BandBlack Passion Band, and Top5 Band.

Sponsored by PURE Performance Water, delivering premium natural spring water powered with essential antioxidants and key nutrients, this year’s Art of Go-Go Culture Fest will bring together music lovers for an immersive fusion of go-go music, dance, culture, and interactive art installations from the likes of Miami’s very own visual artists, Marcus Blake, Rod Royal, and Demont Pinder. “We’re celebrating 50 years of go-go music as well as creative Black art. Go-go music has evolved so much as Washington, D.C.’s official musical soundtrack with a headliner like the Junkyard Band, it will be a must-see concert,” said Wylie Kynard, co-founder and partner at The Miami Takeover, LLC.

As an official Art of Black event, this year’s Art of Go-Go Culture Fest will deliver a transcending and high-energy musical experience and art exhibit at the iconic Bandshell venue on Miami Beach known for hosting globally recognized entertainers and singers.

Thousands of Washington D.C. natives will descend onto Miami Beach for The Miami Takeover’s four-day festival celebration featuring eight exhilarating events. “From an HBCU celebration during the Miami Nights All-White Attire party at The Urban on July 25th, to hosting several pool parties, a beach clean-up, comedy show and a children’s teeth cleaning & educational charity event in partnership with Colgate and the Miami Beach Police Athletic League, we have something for everyone. We’re excited to merge the Caribbean soul of Miami with Washington D.C.’s go-go crank to deliver a fantastic concert and festival,” said Antwoine McCoy, co-founder and partner of The Miami Takeover LLC.

In addition to the musical lineup, a captivating art exhibit will be on display throughout the Bandshell, featuring captivating artwork that was recently debuted in Spain at The Expo Metro Barcelona Spain Art Exhibition. “More than 35 unique pieces of art from local Black artists will be curated and presented by Bibi ART Media, Inc. In addition, a special new art piece titled “Listening to Music” will be revealed and portray an animated art mapping music mural, adapted to reflect the colors of Spain. One local artist will be painting live, offering a fully interactive and immersive experience for guests,” said Brigitte “Bibi” Andrade, founder of Bibi ART Media, Inc.

This year’s featured visual artists include Brigitte Andrade, Marvin Weeks, Heike Kolles, Anastasia The Great, George Rodez, Nestor Paz & Giovanni DeCunto. Art and music lovers can learn more about The Art of Go-Go Culture Fest online and purchase tickets on Eventbrite as part of The Miami Takeover weekend event package or individually. Food, drinks and cabana table services will be available to guests for purchase.

Turkey, tequila shots, pumpkin spice everything, and the fiercest queens in Miami take over November

November 7, 2025

Thanksgiving season arrives early at R House Wynwood. All November long, the beloved drag and dine destination is hosting celebrity homecomings, pop culture themed brunches, Broadway inspired weekends, reggaeton celebrations, and special Thanksgiving events. The atmosphere feels warm and upbeat, the food leans to fall flavors with a Miami twist, and each weekend offers something a little different for guests who want food, community, and entertainment all in one place.

A Month of November Performances

R House begins the month with a major homecoming. On November 8, Fantasia Royale Gaga returns to the venue where her career first gained momentum before she took over Las Vegas. She follows her Saturday night appearance with a special headlining performance at drag brunch on November 9. The weekend blends nostalgia with big stage energy and gives longtime fans a chance to see her again up close.

The same Saturday, guests can experience the Keeping Up With the Kardashians Drag Brunch. Athena Dion steps into full Kris Jenner mode. Lana Luxx joins the cast along with T Lo Ivy, Kat Wilderness, Juicy Love Dion, and Dvice Dion. The brunch is playful, colorful, and filled with familiar pop culture references.

Sunday’s brunch is hosted by Athena Dion with Miami Starr, Serenity Hinez Dupree, Brittish Jay Foxx, and Chachita Rubio. The celebration mixes upbeat music, glamour, and a nod to one of drag’s most influential figures.

The Wicked Release Weekend takes the stage on November 21 and 22. Fans of theatrical performances will enjoy tributes inspired by Elphaba and Glinda. Friday’s Yas Queen show is hosted by Kat Wilderness with Tayanna Love, FKA Twink, and Chachita Rubio.
