Nothing More Deliver Nothing Less Than Their Very Best
Nothing More Bring Their Incredible Live Show to the West Coast of Florida – Photos and Review of the Nothing More Concert at Jannus Live in St Petersburg, Florida
The historic local St. Petersburg hotspot Jannus Live played host to an unforgettable night of high-octane metal this past weekend, and boy was it an experience to behold. Headlined by the ever-charismatic Nothing More, the concert delivered a powerful fusion of alternative metal and hard rock, with the band giving fans a night to remember for a long time to come. The show was complemented by a diverse lineup of opening acts: Post Profit, From Ashes to New, and Set It Off, who collectively set the stage for the sonic barrage that was to come.
Opening the night was Texas-based Post Profit, a band steadily rising on the rock radar over the past few years. Known for their ability to seamlessly mix alternative rock, hip-hop and post-grunge, Post Profit impressed the early crowd with tracks like “Karmakaze” and “Two Toxic”. Their atmospheric melodies blended with singer/guitarist Matt Jackson’s gritty vocals set a strong foundation for what would be a night of emotional intensity. The band’s dynamic stage presence and tight musicianship left a lasting impression, showing why they’re a band to watch as they finished up their time on stage with “Cancer Culture“.
Next up was From Ashes to New, who brought their signature blend of rap, rock, and electronic elements to the stage and quickly won over the audience with their infectious energy and crowd interaction. Kicking things off with “Nightmare” and “Dead to Me“, From Ashes to New’s modern take on nu-metal kept the energy levels peaking with rapid-fire verses and explosive choruses. Despite some technical difficulties during their set due to some power failures, the band soldiered on and was able to bring a killer (albeit abbreviated) set to the denizens of St Pete. Finishing up their time on stage with their most famous hits “My Name” and “Panic“, From Ashes to New had fans singing along and bouncing to their catchy beats throughout the whole set.
By the time Nothing More took the stage, anticipation was at an all-time high and the venue was filled to the brim with excited fans. Known for their larger-than-life stage shows and emotionally charged songs, Nothing More did not disappoint as they kicked things off with “House on Sand” and “Angel Song” from their latest album CARNAL. Frontman Jonny Hawkins, covered in body paint, captivated the crowd with his commanding presence, switching between heart-wrenching lyrics and fiery anthems as he belted through “If It Doesn’t Hurt” and “Don’t Stop“, which featured a guest appearance from Matt from Post Profit.
Nothing More powered through a setlist packed with fan favorites such as “Jenny”, “Let ‘Em Burn”, and “Go to War”, and although the band didn’t bring out their custom “Scorpion Tail” on this tour, Johnny and drummer Ben Anderson still shared an incredible drum solo during “Ships in the Night“. The band’s unique blend of alternative metal, progressive rock, and deeply emotional lyrics created a transcendent experience for all in attendance, and Nothing More’s dramatic theatrics paired perfectly with the raw intensity of their music. Finishing up the night with “This is the Time“, Nothing More’s tight musicianship and raw emotion conveyed in their performance, made it a night to remember.
