Say Hello to Low Fares and High Adventure: Arajet’s U.S. Debut Opens Doors to Hidden Gems in the Caribbean and Latin America.

April 22nd, 2025

Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s low-cost airline, marked a major milestone with its inaugural U.S. flight from Miami International Airport, officially opening the skies between South Florida and the Caribbean like never before.

The celebration was nothing short of historic. Welcomed by a water cannon salute, Arajet Founder and CEO Victor Pacheco proudly waved the Dominican flag, setting the tone for a day filled with pride and excitement. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Dominican Republic General Consul Geanilda Vasquez, and representatives from both the U.S. and Dominican governments joined the festivities, which also included a jersey exchange with Miami Marlins President of Business Operations Caroline O’Connor.

The energy on board Arajet’s Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, “Los Haitises,” was palpable as 189 passengers embarked on a new chapter in Caribbean aviation.

Why Miami Was the Natural Choice

“Miami is the capital of Latin America and one of the busiest international hubs in the U.S.,” Pacheco explained. “It made perfect sense to select Miami for our U.S. debut. The strong Dominican community here, paired with Miami’s growing international traffic, makes it an ideal gateway to the Dominican Republic and beyond.”

Arajet’s direct flights and low-cost fares—starting as low as $250—are poised to make travel between the U.S., Caribbean, and Latin America more accessible than ever.

Hidden Gems Just a Flight Away

With flights now connecting Miami travelers to Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, and 23 other destinations, Pacheco recommends exploring lesser-known gems. “Ciudad Antigua in Guatemala, the Santa Ana Volcano in El Salvador, the stunning architecture of Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro’s vibrant Carnival, and Peru’s incredible seafood scene are just a few hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.”

Affordable Travel with a Dominican Touch

Arajet’s mission is simple: make Caribbean and Latin American travel more accessible and affordable for U.S. travelers. Using Santo Domingo as a hub, Arajet offers direct connections to over 20 destinations throughout the region, all at budget-friendly prices.

Passengers can also look forward to a uniquely Dominican experience onboard. From the rhythmic sounds of merengue and bachata during boarding to the welcoming smiles of the cabin crew and local flavors in the in-flight menu, every detail reflects the island’s vibrant culture. Though Arajet operates as a low-cost airline, the airline places a strong emphasis on comfort, efficiency, and hospitality.

Rooted in the Community, Soaring Toward the Future

With one of the largest Dominican populations in the U.S., Miami holds a special place for Arajet. The airline’s affordable flights not only reconnect families but also open the door for South Florida travelers to explore exciting new destinations without breaking the bank.

And this is just the beginning.

“Due to strong demand, we’re increasing frequency from Miami to daily flights to both Santo Domingo and Punta Cana this summer,” Pacheco revealed. “We’re also excited to launch new routes between Santo Domingo and Newark, as well as Puerto Rico, in June.”

Deals That Keep Travel Dreams Alive

Arajet’s aggressive fare deals, including a 50% off promotion, reflect a commitment to travelers feeling the pinch of rising costs. “Since entering the market, we’ve lowered average prices and expanded our flight services while others are pulling back,” Pacheco said. “Traveling with Arajet is sometimes even more affordable than domestic flights.”

Travelers can expect more spontaneous deals ahead, offering the chance to plan last-minute adventures without the hefty price tag.

The Arajet Promise: Reliable, Affordable, Accessible

When asked to sum up Arajet in just three words, Pacheco didn’t hesitate: “Reliable, affordable, and accessible.” With an on-time arrival rate exceeding 80%, Arajet is setting a new standard for affordable Caribbean and Latin American travel while keeping reliability front and center.

Whether you’re reconnecting with loved ones, seeking your next tropical escape, or simply chasing adventure, Arajet promises a journey as vibrant and welcoming as the Dominican Republic itself.
