Miami Gardens Welcomes New Orange Bowl Field
Orange Bowl Field Debut Reflects $27 Million Commitment to South Florida Youth and Community Programs.
January 13th, 2026
Youth sports in South Florida gained a major boost as the Orange Bowl Committee officially unveiled Orange Bowl Field at Walt Frazier Park, marking the organization’s seventh legacy project in the region and its fourth in Miami-Dade County. The $2.3 million renovation introduced a brand-new synthetic football field, electronic scoreboard, and a series of park refurbishments designed to create a modern, accessible space for young athletes to train and compete.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together a mix of sports icons and civic leaders, headlined by NBA legend Walt Frazier alongside Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. Orange Bowl Committee leadership, representatives from the College Football Playoff, local elected officials, and community stakeholders were also on hand to celebrate the milestone investment in Miami Gardens.
Part of the Orange Bowl Cares initiative, the project contributes to more than $27 million in legacy improvements across South Florida. These upgrades reflect the Committee’s long-standing commitment to youth sports, community engagement, and the lasting impact tied to hosting premier championship events like the upcoming 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship at Hard Rock Stadium.
