Iration and Pepper Light Up South Florida

Four of the Best Modern Reggae Bands Around Join Forces to Bring A Night of Vibrant Vibes to South Florida – Photos and Review of the Iration and Pepper Concert at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater in Pompano Beach, FL
The Pompano Beach Amphitheater was abuzz with excitement this weekend as reggae-rock enthusiasts gathered for an unforgettable night of great music and even better vibes. Pepper and Iration are two of the biggest bands in the reggae circuit right now, and they joined forces with up and coming reggae bands Artikal Sound System and DENM to bring the “Daytripin’ in Paradise” to the fans of South Florida.
The evening kicked off with an electrifying performance by Artikal Sound System, who opened the night with their signature blend of roots reggae and modern sounds. This was a special hometown performance for the band, who started their career playing local venues all over the area. Their smooth rhythms and soulful lyrics captivated the crowd and set the stage for a high-energy concert that had the audience swaying and singing along. Lead vocalist Logan Rex’s powerful voice resonated through the amphitheater, drawing cheers from fans as the band jammed out. Highlights of their set included “Self-Sabotage” and a cover of Paramore’s “Misery Business“, which showcased their ability to blend traditional reggae with contemporary influences seamlessly.
Next up was DENM, whose laid-back beachy tunes injected a wave of California cool into the night. DENM played the show sitting down due to a recent injury, but his backing band brought plenty of energy to spare. The band’s set was a mix of reggae, rock, and electronic influences, creating a unique sound that got the crowd moving. We also got to hear some Sublime covers like “Badfish“, and the band did a great job setting a vibrant tone for the headliners.
As the sun began to set, Pepper took to the stage with a high-energy set that had everyone on their feet. The Hawaiian trio (plus one) brought a contagious enthusiasm to the stage, with their blend of reggae, rock, and punk. Starting with “Freeze“, the band set a lively pace that continued throughout their performance. Classics like “Nice Time” and “Ashes” were crowd-pleasers, while newer tracks like “Tides” (for which they brought out Iration) showcased the band’s evolving sound. The band’s interaction with the audience, including playful banter and sing-alongs, created a sense of camaraderie and connection, and their infectious energy and charismatic performance was undeniable.
Iration closed out the night, bringing their smooth, feel good reggae-rock melodies to life. The band, known for their tight harmonies and catchy hooks, opened with “Day Trippin’” and “Time Bomb“, and they immediately had the audience entranced. Singer-Guitarists Micah Pueschel and Micah Brown had an incredible dual-vocal style that was very well suited for the songs, and the rest of the band performed in unison with an incredible style. The setlist was a well-curated mix of fan favorites and new tracks from their latest album, “Daytrippin’”. Songs like “Reelin” and “Hotting Up” had the crowd singing along, while the mellow “Chill Out” created a more intimate vibe. Iration’s polished performance and engaging stage presence solidified their reputation as one of the leading bands in the reggae-rock scene.
The Pepper and Iration concert at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater was a celebration of reggae-rock music, bringing together fans of all ages for a night of exceptional performances. The opening acts, Artikal Sound System and DENM, set the stage perfectly with their distinctive sounds, while Iration and Pepper delivered memorable sets that highlighted their talents and stage presence. The evening was a testament to the enduring appeal of reggae and rock fusion, leaving attendees with a lasting sense of joy and musical fulfillment.
