Agave, Art, Live Music and Food make a winning pair at Boca Raton’s Mizner Park Amphitheater.

November 5th, 2022

On Saturday, agave enthusiasts flocked to Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton for the highly anticipated Sunset Tequila & Mezcal Festival. This inaugural event brought together a vibrant celebration of agave spirits, art, live music, and delectable food offerings, creating an unforgettable experience for attendees.

The festival showcased an impressive lineup of tequila and mezcal brands, allowing guests to indulge in unlimited tastings of renowned spirits. From well-established names like Codigo 1530, Cazadores, and Herradura, to unique offerings such as Tanteo Jalapeno, Espolon, and Ghost Tequila, there was a diverse range of options to satisfy every palate. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore lesser-known gems like The Rock’s Teremana, Eva Longoria’s Casa Del Sol, El Tequileno, and Jarritos. The festival’s commitment to offering an extensive selection of spirits truly catered to the discerning tastes of agave enthusiasts.

In addition to the delightful libations, the Sunset “Mercado” featured a captivating display of cultural artisans and makers. Festivalgoers could immerse themselves in a world of art and craftsmanship, exploring unique creations and discovering hidden treasures. The artistic ambiance added an extra layer of cultural richness to the festival, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.

The live music performances were a highlight of the event, featuring talented acts such as Artikal Sound System, The Resolvers, Xperimento and Spred The Dub. The soulful tunes created a lively and energetic atmosphere, encouraging guests to dance and enjoy the festive ambiance. The combination of great music and exceptional spirits made for a truly memorable evening.

To satisfy appetites, the festival offered a variety of restaurant pop-ups where attendees could indulge in mouthwatering dishes. From The Wolf of Tacos, Drinking Pig BBQ, Ghost Kitchen Collective, Yakitori Boyz and Lazy Oyster, the food options were diverse and satisfying. These culinary delights provided the perfect accompaniment to the agave tastings, ensuring a well-rounded gastronomic experience.

The festival also provided engaging activities and experiences for guests beyond the spirits and food offerings. Attendees had the opportunity to snap photos in Dos Hombres Land Rover, an exciting addition for fans of Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston. The Casamigos 360˙photo experience offered another interactive opportunity for attendees to capture memorable moments. Moreover, virtual experiences like the “Train to Jalisco” with Jose Cuervo and the search for Ilegal Mezcal’s speakeasy added an element of intrigue and adventure to the festival.

VIP ticket holders enjoyed exclusive benefits, including early admission, access to an air-conditioned Garden Tent, a balcony concert viewing area, private bathrooms, and complimentary bites. These additional perks elevated the VIP experience and provided an extra level of comfort and enjoyment for those who opted for this ticket tier.

It is worth noting that a portion of the festival’s proceeds went towards benefiting Kula Cares, a commendable organization based in Boca Raton that provides educational supplies to underserved communities. The festival’s commitment to giving back to the community adds a positive and impactful element to the overall event.

Overall, the Sunset Tequila & Mezcal Festival at Mizner Park Amphitheater delivered an impressive and well-rounded experience for agave enthusiasts. With its diverse selection of spirits, vibrant art displays, captivating live music performances, delectable food options, and engaging activities, the festival created a lively and immersive atmosphere. Despite a few minor organizational hiccups, the event showcased the beauty and complexity of agave spirits, leaving attendees eagerly anticipating.

Veggies Made Great helped fuel a family-friendly weekend of free workouts, paddleboarding, coffee, small bites, and feel-good fun at 96th Street Park.

May 18, 2026

Surfside brought the good vibes this weekend with Paddletopia 2026, a two-day wellness and outdoor lifestyle event that turned 96th Street Park into a sunny little hub for movement, community, and family-friendly fun.

Held on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event welcomed kids, adults, fitness lovers, coffee drinkers, paddleboarders, and anyone looking for a fresh-air weekend by the water. The best part? So many of the experiences were free, making it easy for families and locals to drop in, move around, and enjoy the day without overthinking it.

The workout classes were a highlight, bringing plenty of energy to the park with approachable, upbeat sessions that made wellness feel fun instead of intimidating. Between the fitness classes, paddleboarding, live music, wellness activations, and relaxed outdoor atmosphere, Paddletopia had that perfect South Florida mix of active and easygoing.

Of course, no great weekend event is complete without good bites. Veggies Made Great, an official event partner, kept guests fueled with complimentary samples of their veggie-packed favorites, including the Spinach Egg White Frittata and Lemon Blueberry Muffin. The samples were a smart fit for the day: light, wholesome, tasty, and easy to enjoy between activities. Paired with coffee and other small bites available throughout the event, it made for the kind of simple, satisfying spread that both kids and adults could get behind.

The event also had a thoughtful environmental angle through the “Paddle for Plastic” initiative with Plastic Fisherman, encouraging attendees to help clean Surfside canals in exchange for eco-friendly rewards. It added a meaningful layer to the weekend, blending wellness, community, and environmental care in a way that felt natural for a coastal town like Surfside.

Overall, Paddletopia 2026 felt like exactly what a South Florida weekend should be: outdoorsy, welcoming, active, delicious, and just a little bit sun-kissed. From free fitness classes to better-for-you snacks and community-focused fun, Surfside gave families a reason to get outside and enjoy the best of wellness by the water.
