Prezzo (Boca Raton) – REVIEW

Published

on

Boca Raton’s Italian Gem, Prezzo, Serves Up Generous Portions and Gourmet Bliss.

April 24th, 2024

Prezzo, an Italian trattoria in Boca Raton, has established itself as a beloved local favorite since its inception in 2017, known for its soulful preparations and imaginative interpretations of Italian classics. The restaurant’s talented chef team offers a diverse array of dishes that cater to both regular patrons and newcomers, ensuring a delightful dining experience for all.

Upon entering Prezzo, we were immediately impressed by the great ambiance, which is equally inviting whether you choose to dine inside or al fresco. The centerpiece of the 4,300-square-foot restaurant is the wood-burning oven, producing not only the renowned crispy, thin-crust pizzas but also filling the space with tantalizing aromas.

Our dining experience was elevated by the very attentive service. Jeremiah, our server, was exceptional in helping us select several items based on our tastes. The portion sizes were generous, allowing us to enjoy some delightful leftovers at home.

We started our meal with the Spicy Tuna Tostadas ($16), a vibrant combination of wonton crisp, ahi tuna, sriracha crème, sweet soy, sesame seeds, and Fresno chili, which provided a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Next, we savored the Lobster Bisque ($16), a rich and creamy soup accented with aged sherry, mascarpone, and basil oil.

One of the highlights was the Pear Pasta ($10), featuring an asiago fonduta walnut sauce that was nothing short of surreal. The Eggplant Caprese Stack ($20), with its pan-fried eggplant, beefsteak tomato, fresh mozzarella, balsamic, and basil pesto, was both visually stunning and delicious.

The Blistered Shishito Peppers ($16), served with meyer lemon and roasted garlic aioli, were a delightful new addition to the menu. For our main course, we enjoyed the Tuscan Salmon ($32), a beautifully cooked fillet that was tender and flaky, adorned with roasted cherry tomatoes bursting with sweetness, chopped baby spinach adding a fresh, leafy texture, all brought together by a creamy roasted garlic sauce. The accompanying sautéed zucchini noodles provided a light and healthy alternative to traditional pasta.

We couldn’t resist trying a half-and-half pizza, choosing the ½ Black Truffle Pizza and ½ Italian Sausage Pizza ($21). The Black Truffle Pizza, topped with creamy ricotta, gooey mozzarella, earthy cremini mushrooms, delicate shaved red onion, and a sprinkle of parmesan, was a gourmet delight finished with peppery arugula. The Italian Sausage Pizza, with its roasted garlic ricotta base, melted mozzarella, savory sweet Italian sausage, and sweet caramelized onions and minus the mushrooms, was a flavorful wonderland.

The Spicy Orecchiette ($29) offered a satisfying kick with every bite. The perfectly cooked orecchiette pasta was tossed with vibrant broccoli rabe, sharp pecorino Romano, and fragrant toasted garlic & oil, complemented by chunks of spicy Italian sausage that added depth and heat.

For a heartier option, the 14 oz Grilled Veal Chop ($54) did not disappoint. The chop was expertly grilled to a juicy perfection, with a slight char that added a smoky dimension to the tender, flavorful meat. This dish came with a side of your choice, rounding out a robust and indulgent entree.

We wrapped up our meal with the incredibly necessary Warm Butter Cake ($22) topped with two scoops of ice cream. The cake was warm, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with the cool, creamy ice cream providing the perfect contrast.

Prezzo also offers a range of special dietary options, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices. With features like delivery, takeout, reservations, outdoor seating, private dining, valet parking, and a full bar, it’s no wonder Prezzo is a popular spot in Boca Raton. The spacious indoor/outdoor bar area, complete with beer, signature cocktails, and a curated wine list, is perfect for happy hour, live entertainment nights, and bottomless Sunday brunches.

Perfect Pineapple Margarita, Raspberry Lemon Drop

Overall, Prezzo delivers a superb dining experience with attentive service, generous portions, and a menu that beautifully blends traditional and innovative Italian dishes. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual meal or a special night out, Prezzo is a hit in every sense.

Takay Omakase Miami Opening on Coral Way Brings an Intimate 10 Seat Dining Experience

Published

on

This 10-seat omakase opening in Miami is about to be one of the hardest reservations to get. Takay on Coral Way combines high-level sushi, intentional design, and a guest experience that feels personal from start to finish.

March 17, 2026

Miami, if you love a beautifully done omakase, this is one to have on your radar.

There is a new omakase concept opening this spring on Coral Way, and it already feels like the kind of place people will be trying to get into early. Takay is an intimate 10-seat experience created by founders Glen Kotlyarski and Yoni Matz, bringing together serious culinary pedigree with a very intentional, guest-focused vision.

Let’s start with the people behind it, because that is really what defines this concept.

Chef Glen Kotlyarski leads the culinary experience, bringing more than 2 decades of fine-dining expertise. His background includes the Jean Georges group and Miami’s Michelin-starred Hidden, and that level of precision and discipline is felt in every course. His approach draws from traditional Edomae sushi techniques, while staying grounded in seasonality and balance.

Alongside him, co-founder Yoni Matz brings a strong hospitality perspective shaped by years of building and operating restaurant concepts. His influence is clear in the overall experience, which is designed to feel warm, welcoming, and engaging rather than overly formal or intimidating.

And you feel that from the moment you arrive.

The space, designed by Japan based architecture firm KTX, is quietly stunning. Guests enter through a Japanese Zen garden, setting a calm and intentional tone before stepping inside. The interior blends traditional Japanese craftsmanship with subtle Miami influence, featuring natural materials, soft lighting, and a sculptural wooden wave installation inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa. The entire room is designed to slow you down and bring your attention fully into the experience.

Takay’s omakase follows a classic Edomae style, with two nightly seatings, each centered on a 17- or 20-course progression. Seafood is flown in from Japan and paired with seasonal ingredients from local farms, allowing the menu to evolve continuously.

The experience moves through sashimi, nigiri, and composed dishes, with each course prepared directly in front of guests and thoughtfully explained. It feels interactive, personal, and immersive, making the entire evening feel intentional.

It strikes that rare balance where the experience feels polished and high-level, but still comfortable enough to fully enjoy without overthinking it.

When it opens, Takay will offer a 17-course signature omakase at $225 per person and a 20-course extended omakase at $275. Each seating includes a welcome beverage, with optional sake, champagne, and wine pairings available.

Takay is located at 2296 Coral Way in Miami and will be open Tuesday through Saturday with seatings at 6 pm and 9 pm.

In a city known for large, high-energy dining scenes, Takay introduces something a little more intimate and intentional. It is the kind of place that focuses on the details, and those are usually the ones that stand out the most.
