Slightly Stoopid’s Summertime 2023 Tour Came To An Incredible End in South Florida – Photos and Review of the Slightly Stoopid, Sublime with Rome, Atmosphere and The Movement Concert at the iThink Financial Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL

The iThink Financial Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida, was the place to be on September 3rd as it played host to an unforgettable night of reggae rock music. Legendary ska-reggae acts Sublime with Rome and Slightly Stoopid were the main attractions of the night, while The Movement and Atmosphere warmed up the crowd with their incredible opening performances.

The Movement kicked off the evening with an energetic set that had the early arrivals grooving from the get-go. Their fusion of reggae, rock, and hip-hop vibes set a perfect tone for the night. Lead singer Josh Swain’s smooth vocals and the band’s tight musicianship had the crowd swaying and dancing to hits like “Take Me to the Ocean” and “Sounds of Summer“. The Movement’s spirited performance was a fantastic appetizer for the main course yet to come.

Next up was Atmosphere, an hip-hop duo bringing their unique brand of alternative old-school rap to the stage. Wordsmith Slug’s introspective, intellectual lyrics and producer Ant’s masterful beats created an intimate atmosphere (see what I did there?) amidst the open-air amphitheater. The crowd was treated to a setlist that combined classic tracks like “Sunshine” and “God Loves Ugly“, songs from their most famous classic album “When Life Gives You Lemons” along with newer hits like “Okay” from their latest album. Atmosphere’s set was a refreshing deviation from the reggae vibes of the night, adding a diverse musical flavor to the lineup.

As the sun set over the gorgeous South Florida sky, anticipation reached its peak for the main acts of the evening. The moment had finally arrived for Sublime with Rome to rock the house, and the crowd erupted as the band took the stage, kicking off their set with “April 29, 1992 (Miami)“. Rome Ramirez’s vocals and guitar skills did justice to the timeless classics made famous by Brad Nowell and the original Sublime. From “Doin’ Time” to “Wrong Way” and “Badfish“, every song was met with thunderous applause and the crowd’s enthusiastic participation as Sublime with Rome managed to capture the essence of the original band while adding their unique flair. The stage production, with its mesmerizing visuals, further enhanced the experience. The band finished up their time on stage with their most famous hits, “Santeria” and “What I Got” as the crowd cheered and clamored for more.

As the night continued, the audience’s anticipation for Slightly Stoopid grew to a fever pitch. Finally, as fog filled the stage and their intro song, House of Pain’s “Jump Around” began to play, Slightly Stoopid stormed onto the stage with an electrifying presence that sent waves of energy throughout the audience. Their signature blend of reggae, rock, punk, and blues was on full display, and the crowd responded with unrestrained enthusiasm. Kicking off their set with hits “Top of the World” and “Officer” had everyone singing along, and the band’s instrumental prowess was particularly showcased during extended jams that had the amphitheater rocking. Slightly Stoopid’s performance was a high-octane, feel-good party that left the crowd in high spirits, and the night seemed to pass too quickly in a blur of music, dancing, and camaraderie. The iThink Financial Amphitheater provided a comfortable and spacious setting, ensuring that every fan had a clear view of the stage and plenty of room to move. Slightly Stoopid finished off their time on stage with an encore of “One More Night” and an incredible cover of the Beastie Boys’ “Intergalactic“.

In conclusion, the Sublime with Rome and Slightly Stoopid concert at iThink Financial Amphitheater was an absolute triumph. The blend of reggae, rock, hip-hop, and punk was a musical delight, and the performances by The Movement, Atmosphere, Sublime with Rome, and Slightly Stoopid left the crowd thoroughly entertained and satisfied. It was a night filled with good vibes, great music, and unforgettable memories – a testament to the enduring appeal of these legendary bands and their dedication to keeping the spirit of reggae rock alive. If you ever get the chance to attend a concert featuring these talented acts, don’t miss it!
