Music for the Heart, Empowerment for the Soul: The Awakening Tour’s Unforgettable Night.

October 3rd, 2024

What a wonderful night filled with unity, spirit, and faith! The Awakening Tour aimed to awaken our spirits to our true identity and calling in Christ, encouraging us to shift our focus from our limitations to the God who makes the impossible possible.

After an opening prayer, Katy Nichole took the stage. The talented singer/songwriter from Centricity Music connected with the audience instantly. Her voice, a humble cry with a resilient spirit, inspired as she shared her journey of overcoming scoliosis through her music. Highlights from her set included “Hold On,” “In Jesus’ Name,” and “God is in This Story.”

Next up was David Leonard, known for his previous group, All Sons & Daughters. His set, infused with his Nashville roots, included songs like “Brother” and “Money & Fame,” culminating in the powerful anthem “Great Are You Lord.” Hearing the entire arena sing the bridge and chorus together was a goosebump-inducing moment.

Following David was Mac Powell, the former frontman of the award-winning band Third Day. Mac honored his past with a rendition of “God of Wonders” while also showcasing new material and hits like “Cry Out to Jesus” and “Soul on Fire,” complete with a dynamic fire-animated backdrop.

Next, We The Kingdom took the stage and delivered an unforgettable performance. Their sound blended the folk stylings of Mumford & Sons with the gospel flair of Maverick City Worship. They showcased their musical versatility with a Bluegrass circle, singing the beloved hymn “I’ll Fly Away,” followed by the lively “Mama Don’t Allow,” which had fans dancing in the aisles. Their set included hits like “God So Loved,” “Miracle Power,” and the crowd favorite “Holy Water.”

Terrian, a former lead vocalist with Toby Mac, was the next artist to perform. Despite her small stature, she delivered a powerful performance, energizing the crowd with songs like “Honestly, We Just Need Jesus” and “Stayed On Him.” Her upbeat track “Big God” had everyone moving.

Finally, Casting Crowns closed the night. With numerous awards, including Doves and Grammys, they embody humility and simplicity. They opened their set with “Only Jesus,” diving right into a vast library of hits. Fan favorites included “Voice of Truth,” “Who Am I” and “Nobody.”

During the show, the audience voted for a song to be performed, and “Courageous” won. Mark Hall shared personal stories about tough family situations and how God can work through them. He also reflected on the powerful themes in their music, particularly in “Praise You in the Storm.”

Whether laughing, cheering, singing, or crying, the performances at The Awakening Tour profoundly impacted everyone present. It was more than just a concert; it was a moment of reverence and relevance.
