The Slightly Dirty Summer Tour Hits West Palm

Dirty Heads and Slightly Stoopid Co-Headline an Incredible Show of Reggae Magic – Photos and Review of the Slightly Stoopid and Dirty Heads show at the iThink Financial Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL
The iThink Financial Amphitheater was the perfect backdrop for a night of reggae, rock, and good vibes as Dirty Heads and Slightly Stoopid brought their “Slightly Dirty Summer” co-headlining tour to West Palm Beach. With an impressive lineup that also featured The Elovaters and Common Kings, the concert delivered an unforgettable experience for Reggae fusion fans of all ages on this hot summer Friday.
The Elovaters opened the evening with a set that superbly set the tone for what was to come. Known for their smooth flavor of reggae, the Boston-based band delivered a performance filled with positivity and energy. Songs like “Castaway” and “Gimme Love” had the crowd swaying and singing along, and their laid-back rhythms and catchy melodies a perfect warm-up for the night ahead. The Elovaters finished up their time on stage with “Sunlight“, which perfectly captured the mood of the crowd.
Up next were Common Kings, whose blend of reggae and rap influences brought an infectious energy to the stage. Hailing from Orange County, California, the band is renowned for their dynamic performances and irresistible hooks. Their set included fan favorites like “The Light” and “Lost in Paradise“, which had the audience dancing the entire time, fully immersed in the music. The band’s charismatic stage presence and tight musicianship made for a standout performance, leaving the crowd eagerly anticipating the main acts.
As the sun began to set, Dirty Heads took the stage, immediately captivating the audience with their unique fusion of reggae, hip-hop, and rock. The Huntington Beach band, fronted by Jared “Dirty J” Watson and Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell, delivered a high-energy set that showcased their diverse musical influences, with Dirty J handling rapping duties while Duddy sang and played guitar. Hits like “My Sweet Summer“, “Lay Me Down” and “Vacation” had the crowd singing along and dancing in the aisles, and we even got to hear a cover of Joe Walsh’s “Life’s Been Good“. The band’s seamless blend of genres and infectious stage presence created an electric atmosphere, setting the bar high for the evening as they finished up their time on stage with “Heavy Water” and “Medusa“.
The night reached its crescendo as Slightly Stoopid took the stage to close out the show. The San Diego-based band, known for their eclectic mix of reggae, rock, jazz and hip-hop, delivered a performance that was both high-energy and deeply soulful. Slightly Stoopid masterminds Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald led the band through a setlist that spanned their extensive catalog, including crowd-pleasers like “Bandelero“, “2 A.M.“, and “Good Life“. The band’s musicianship was on full display, with tight grooves, extended jams and alternate versions of songs that had the audience entranced. We even had a special guest appearance by Charli 2na of Jurassic 5 fame, who guest starred on “Everyday People” and “Hands High“. The addition of a whole array of lasers and a vibrant light show added to the immersive experience.
By the time they played the final notes of their last song “If This World Were Mine“, Slightly Stoopid had the crowd fully immersed in their signature sound, leaving everyone with a lasting sense of excitement. Dirty Heads’ and Slightly Stoopid’s “Slightly Dirty Summer” co-headlining tour was a massive success. With stellar performances from The Elovaters and Common Kings, the night was a celebration of music, unity, and positive vibes. Fans left the venue buzzing, already looking forward to the next time these bands roll through town.
