Sunfest’s Eclectic Finale: Music and Fireworks Galore

From Reggae to Soul: Sunfest Ends with a Bang, Showcasing Musical Brilliance and Nostalgic Harmonies.

The final day of Sunfest started and ended with a bang, literally. The rain from the previous days finally let off for the star-studded lineup that rocked all three stages the entire day. The day featured many different genres that spanned decades of hits and moods. The night ended with a bang as Sunfest concluded with its traditional fireworks from the intracoastal.

Artikal Sound System kicked things off on the LaBovick Law Group Stage. The local reggae band jammed out to the crowd with their funky beats and melodies, even bringing out a member of the band SOJA to close them out. SOJA kept the reggae vibe going on the LaBovick Law Group stage all while famous DJ Steve Aoki had his fans jumping nonstop on the Ford stage. Fans kept up the wild fun even while a cake was tossed at them.

The evening featured an up-and-coming band BabyJake showcasing some of their new tracks from their upcoming album that will be released in the near future. The band’s “Ill do what I want” mantra was on full display they looked like a throwback to 70’s rock stars with their American flag suits. They even paid homage to the legends of that time with covers of the Rolling Stones and Aretha Franklin.

Each stage finished the night off with its own headliner. Psychedelic soul band, Black Pumas finished things off at the LaBovick Law Group Stage. The duo is relatively new to the music industry but has hit the ground running, already nominated for a few Grammys since their debut in 2019. The group from Austin, Texas played their hits “Black Moon Rising,” “OCT 33” and finished the night off with “Colors.”

Grammy winners AJR shut the night down on the Ford stage with a mix from their hit albums. The brothers from New York rocked a huge crowd with their music and some funny interactions with the fans. The indie pop band showed an interesting mix of keyboards, guitars and trumpets. They played hits such as “Sober Up,” “Way Less Sad,” “Bang,” “Weak” and “Burn The House Down.”

Boyz II Men closed it down on the Ideal Nutrition Stage with a blast from the past of 90’s harmony and soul. The Philadelphia trio brought Motown to Philly and made international success from it. They rocked a huge West Palm Beach crowd Sunday night of all ages that seemed to know every word. They played a few of their countless hits such as “Motownphilly,” “On Bended Knee,” “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.” They also did an array of covers of Lenny Kravitz songs and finished the evening with one of their biggest hits “End of the Road.”
