Daddy Yankee & Paul Pogba Witness History at First-Ever Miami Premier Padel Final
Brea, Triay, Chingotto & Galán write their names in Premier Padel’s history as the first champions in the U.S.
Miami served up more than just world-class padel—it delivered a show. Inside a packed arena brimming with energy, the motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1 finals brought together sport and entertainment in a way only this city can. For the first time in Premier Padel history, the action was preceded by a celebrity coin toss, with global superstar Daddy Yankee taking centre stage to open the men’s final. Two thrilling finals that captivated the crowd and highlighted both the sport’s elite level of competition and its accelerating global momentum.
A commanding victory sealed the title at the men’s draw, as Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galán defeated Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebrón 6-1, 7-6 to secure their first trophy of the 2025 season and end a 260-day Premier Padel title drought. The final, which featured the first-ever clash between these two pairings and the first Premier Padel final between former partners Galán and Lebrón, saw the second seeds take control early with a dominant first set before prevailing in a tightly contested tiebreak. With this triumph—their sixth title as a team—Chingotto and Galán reassert their credentials after a challenging start to the year and maintain pressure in the race for the top ranking.

Following the final, Alejandro Galán expressed his satisfaction with their return to the winner’s circle: “We’re very happy to be champions again. I can only express my gratitude to Fede—the work he puts in is incredible, and he fully deserved the MVP for how he played throughout the tournament.” For his part, Federico Chingotto acknowledged the support received during the week: “Thank you, Miami, for the affection and support. I felt your energy in every moment, at every changeover, and it pushed me to fight even harder—especially with my family, friends, and our whole team right there behind us.”
Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay extended their unbeaten streak by overcoming world number ones Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the final of the motorola razr Miami Premier Padel P1, capturing their third consecutive title and second head-to-head victory of the season against the top-ranked pair. Despite Sánchez and Josemaría arriving in the final without dropping a set and boasting 12 Premier Padel titles, it was Brea and Triay—who themselves had not lost a set since the Gijón P2 final—who dictated the decisive moments after a slow start. The second seeds reversed the momentum with authority, showcasing tactical control and composure to close out the match in two hours. With this result, Brea and Triay extend their winning run to twelve matches and solidify their lead in the FIP Race, narrowing the gap in the overall rankings as they continue their pursuit of the number one position.

Following their triumph, Delfi Brea acknowledged the challenge posed by their opponents’ strong starts: “We know they are two players who always start matches very well, and that’s something we need to improve for our next encounters. I’m very happy, I still can’t believe it, and I want to thank the whole team—we suffered together, all three of us, and with Jorge as well, the four of us.” Her partner Gemma Triay reflected on the atmosphere and their tactical execution: “Today we saw a lot of people in the stands, and I think that’s very positive for the growth of our sport. I don’t know if I was particularly sharp—I wasn’t finding many winners at the beginning—but we were clear about the work we had to do, and we managed to turn it around in the second set.”
The tour now moves south as the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour continues its global journey. All eyes turn to Chile, where the Banco de Chile Santiago Premier Padel P1 begins main draw action tomorrow, promising another week of top-tier competition in one of South America’s most vibrant sporting cities.
