What Happens When You Get This Close to Exotic Animals in Orlando
Beyond the Theme Parks This Hidden Orlando Experience Brings You Up Close With Exotic Animals in an Intimate Setting That Feels More Like a Private Safari.
March 14th, 2026
In Orlando, there’s a place that feels like heaven for animal lovers…a place where you experience the animals as they experience you. At Exotic Animal Experience, you’re not stuck behind obtrusive barriers or vision-blocking chain-link fences. Instead, you’re immersed right alongside the animals, creating what truly feels like a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.
A Different Kind of Animal Experience
As an avid animal lover, there’s nothing I dislike more than seeing lifeless animals confined to small, concrete zoo enclosures. Even worse is watching them pace endlessly in repetitive, heartbreaking patterns. Owner Leslie-Ann Rush, however, demonstrates genuine care and respect for her animals through spacious, naturalistic environments. Here, the animals appear happier, more relaxed, and free to behave naturally.
Kangaroos, Capybaras & Unexpected Moments
What Leslie has created is a non-forced, one-on-one experience where the animals take the lead. They decide where to go, whether to interact, and how engaged they want to be. For example, we entered a large sandy and grassy enclosure filled with red and gray kangaroos. Olaf and Grey Goose immediately approached us, happily accepting food and attention. Meanwhile, Fiona preferred to keep her distance and that choice was respected.

That said, most of the animals, about 90%, actively sought interaction. Some even guided you to their favorite scratch spots. A small muntjac deer named Mia insisted on continuous neck scratches and made sure everyone participated. A capybara would lie down in front of you for belly rubs, but if you crouched too low, you might suddenly find one climbing onto your back in a playful show of dominance.

The Most Photogenic (and Mischievous) Camels
The camels brought a whole different energy.

Even more mischievous were the dromedary camels. One, named Baby Girl, was the queen of photobombing, constantly sneaking her head into pictures and adding unexpected humor to the experience. These playful, unscripted moments are something you simply wouldn’t encounter in a traditional zoo.

🐒 The Lemur Playground
The lemur area felt like stepping into pure chaos, but in the best way possible.

One of the most magical areas was the lemur enclosure, which is a vibrant, open space designed for both play and relaxation. A striking red-and-black lemur named Chili Bean casually approached me and began licking the sweat off my legs while I petted her. Nearby, Lolli and Poppi, two black-and-white lemurs, swung energetically through the structures, occasionally pausing for calm, affectionate interactions. Meanwhile, Charlie, a red-fronted brown lemur, observed everything from above, content in his own space.

It was unpredictable, interactive, and honestly unforgettable.

The Baby Animals (Heart = Melted)
If the experience wasn’t already amazing, the baby animals take it to another level.
If that wasn’t enough to melt your heart, the baby animals certainly would. Their innocence and gentle nature seemed to wash away any stress. We had the chance to pet a baby kangaroo named Gisele, and there were also several baby monkeys to observe up close.
This part alone makes the visit worth it.

The Sloth Encounter (Highlight of the Day)
For me, this was the moment I was most excited about.
Most sloth encounters are expensive and rushed, but here, you actually get time to enjoy it. You’re not just taking a quick photo and moving on.
We met a sloth named Blossom, who was carrying her baby. Watching the baby cling to her while calmly observing everything around it was something I’ll never forget.
It was peaceful, up-close, and easily the most memorable part of the experience.

Is Exotic Animal Experience Worth It?
Absolutely.
At many places, you’ll pay a high price just to interact with one animal for a few minutes. Here, you get a wide variety of interactions all in one visit.
It feels more personal, more relaxed, and far more meaningful than a traditional zoo experience.

Final Thoughts
If you love animals…even a little, then this place is something special.
This Exotic Animal Experience only scratches the surface of what you’ll encounter. Every visit is different, and that’s part of the magic.
If you’re in Florida and looking for something unique, memorable, and genuinely fun, this is it.
