Museum of Ice Cream Serves Up a Sprinkle-Packed Adventure That’s Anything but Vanilla.
June 11th, 2026
If Willy Wonka opened an ice cream factory in Miami, it would probably look a lot like the Museum of Ice Cream
Whether you’re planning a date day, girls’ outing, family adventure, tourist stop or you’re simply an adult who’s still a kid at heart, this place is the sweetest escape from the Miami heat. We splurged on the VIP experience, and that was the cherry on top. We skipped the morning line, received first entry, enjoyed a complimentary drink, and even scored a surprise from the gift shop.
From the moment you walk in, you’re handed a name tag and you write in your favorite flavor; my colleague was Brownie Chunks, while classic ice cream lovers can proudly wear Vanilla. Personally, I was “Red Velvet.” It’s a fun little touch that immediately makes everyone feel like part of the experience.
Every room serves up a different dessert adventure. One minute you’re strolling through a retro soda shop café, the next you’re sliding into the famous Sprinkle Pool with an un-cone-trollable urge to to do it all over again. Along the way, you’re pushing mysterious buttons, waiting by conveyor belts, putting on headphones, opening freezer doors with surprises hidden behind them, using your senses to “taste” a beach trip, playing boardwalk games, making your way through mini golf, riding an insta-worthy carousel and discovering secret passageways filled with surprise flavors.

There’s literally something sweet waiting around every corner.
The Museum of Ice Cream blends art, imagination, nostalgia and play into one colorful experience. Rainbows seem to appear everywhere you look, and every themed room feels designed for the perfect Instagram photo. Even the lighting deserves a standing ovation.
Speaking of treats… skip Costco samples, because this place has you covered. We sampled everything from Cherry Ice Cream to Cookies & Cream, plus surprise flavors tucked away in secret spaces. The portions are intentionally small, so you won’t end up on a Rocky Road halfway through your visit, but don’t be surprised if the kids leave with a full-blown sugar rush anyway. Honestly, I was ready to declare ice cream for dinner!
One unexpected favorite was the “Lift Off” ice cream plane serving a Pineapple Orange Whip that instantly transported me to vacation mode. VIP guests can also enjoy cocktails and mocktails. Ordering a Shirley Temple took me right back to childhood when it felt like the fanciest drink Mom would let you order on a special night out.

The staff deserves a standing ovation. Their enthusiasm was absolutely infectious, and every employee genuinely looked thrilled to be there. That energy made the experience even sweeter.
I also loved that you actually learn a few fun facts along the way. Did you know cicada ice cream exists? There are trivia games like matching toppings to clues that make the museum more interactive than just walking from photo op to photo op. It engages all your senses, not just your sweet tooth.
The experience takes about one to two hours, making it perfect for escaping the afternoon heat without feeling rushed. It’s also surprisingly accessible. Grandma can enjoy the experience with plenty of opportunities to rest, and there’s very little strenuous walking. Parents should pack a light diaper bag and maybe a few snacks for little ones, although the café also serves donuts, sweet treats, drinks and other goodies if you need a break.

While tickets can add up for families ($24 a standard ticket), the experience feels worth it for the air conditioning alone.
The only thing that wasn’t quite as sweet? Parking. The museum doesn’t have dedicated parking, so you’ll need to rely on nearby garages, valet, or street parking. It’s a small bump in an otherwise Cherry Garcia kind of day.
The Museum of Ice Cream had me screaming for ice cream long after we left. It’s whimsical, colorful, nostalgic and full of delightful surprises that melt in your mouth and stay in your memory. As they say, life is what you bake it… wait, that’s the wrong dessert. This place is simply the whipped cream on top of any Miami itinerary and would make Ben & Jerry proud.
Whether you’re planning a playful date, a girls’ day, a family outing or a tourist-friendly escape from the Miami heat, this sweet little adventure is a treat worth adding to any Miami itinerary.
