Wearing his inspirations on his sleeve—quite literally as I noticed the Glassjaw patches on his jacket—vocalist Andrew Herman commanded the stage with a chaotic presence, his raw, guttural screams cutting through the mix like a jackhammer. Tracks like “The Ladder“ and “Rebuttal“ incited immediate circle pits, with Herman even jumping into the crowd during their last song “Deepfake“, crowdsurfing while screaming lyrics. Their short but explosive set left no doubt that Johnny Booth is a band on the rise that demands your attention.

After the Burial took to the stage following chaos of the opening act, and the energy in the room immediately intensified even more. The progressive metal titans, known for their crushing grooves and technical 8-string wizardry, delivered a set that was nothing short of devastating. Opening with “In Flux“, the band’s signature blend of intricate guitar work and earth-shaking breakdowns sent shockwaves through the venue. Guitarist Trent Hafdahl blasted out dizzying riffs and solos, while bassist Adrian Oropeza and drummer Dan Carle anchored the chaos with bone-rattling precision. Fan favorites like “Lost in the Static“ and “Behold the Crown“ had the entire floor spinning in a circle, with crowd surfers riding the wave of hands in the pit. Vocalist Anthony Notarmaso was a powerhouse, his guttural lows and piercing highs cutting through the mix with clarity and force and by the time they closed with “Collapse”, the crowd was left breathless—but ready for more to come.

As the lights dimmed once again for Currents, the anticipation in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife. The Connecticut-based band has been on a meteoric rise in recent years, and their performance last night proved exactly why. From the opening notes of “Living in Tragedy“, the crowd erupted in a frenzy and the room began to spin in a circle. Frontman Brian Wille delivered an incredible, emotionally charged performance, seamlessly transitioning from guttural roars to soaring cleans. The band’s blend of crushing heaviness and melodic depth was on full display, with tracks like “Kill The Ache“ and “Better Days“ sparking massive singalongs. The band’s stage presence was magnetic, with Wille frequently reaching out to the crowd, making every fan feel like part of the experience. Their closing track “Unfamiliar“ left the audience in a state of euphoric exhaustion, but still ready for the main course.

By the time We Came As Romans took the stage, the House of Blues was packed to the brim and the crowd was buzzing with anticipation. The Michigan metalcore veterans opened with “All is Beautiful“, the title track from their upcoming album “All Is Beautiful… Because We’re Doomed“, and the room immediately erupted in a sea of movement and moshpits. Frontman Dave Stephens was a force of nature, his commanding screams and sharp cleans resonating with power and emotion as he bounced around the stage like a wild man.

The band’s setlist focused mainly on their newer material, showcasing the new album as well as playing some tracks from their other recent album “Darkbloom“. One of the most poignant moments of the night came during “Carry the Weight“, a heartfelt tribute to late vocalist Kyle Pavone who passed in 2017, and the entire venue sang along—phones lighting up the room in a beautiful display of unity and remembrance and sending waves of nostalgia through the crowd. Guitarists Lou Cotton and Joshua Moore, bassist Andy Glass, and drummer David Puckett delivered a flawless, locked-in performance, their chemistry and energy infectious.

The night reached its climax with “Black Hole” and “Daggers“, their anthemic choruses echoing through Disney Springs as fans screamed back every word.
