The Wick Gets Gloriously Cher’d in Boca
The Cher Show Makes Boca Believe in the Power of Sequins, Sass and Serious Star Power.
May 9th, 2026
When a diva says “If I could turn back time,” theater lovers across South Florida apparently answer, “Take my money.”
The dazzling, bedazzled, gloriously over-the-top smash hit The Cher Show is bringing its sequins, sass, and soaring vocals to South Florida, reminding audiences exactly why Cher has remained an icon across six decades and countless reinventions.
More than a Tony-winning Broadway hit, The Cher Show is less a traditional jukebox bio-show and more a full-force Cher experience. Think Vegas spectacle meets heartfelt memoir, with enough costume changes to make RuPaul sweat.
The musical cleverly divides Cher into three versions of herself: Babe, Lady, and Star. Each represents a different era of her life and career, from shy young dreamer to disco goddess to immortal pop-culture empress. Watching the three Chers interact is one of the show’s highlights, allowing audiences to see the vulnerability, humor, insecurity, and absolute steel beneath the rhinestones.

The production truly sparkles with this casting trifecta, each performer capturing a distinct era of the icon while still feeling unmistakably, fabulously Cher.
Ella Perez brings warmth and vulnerability to Babe, the youngest version of Cher. Perez gives the character an earnestness that makes her early struggles feel deeply human, especially as the show explores Cher’s insecurities, ambition, and experiences long before the world knew her name. There’s a sweetness to her performance that grounds the production emotionally before the sequins take over.
As Lady, Catherine Ariale delivers the perfect bridge between uncertainty and icon status. Confident, funny, and fiercely charismatic, Ariale captures the era where Cher begins stepping fully into her own power, both personally and professionally. Her vocals soar through some of the show’s biggest moments, and her comedic timing keeps the audience locked in from scene to scene.
Then comes Star, played by Kristin Rose Kelleher, who absolutely commands the stage with larger-than-life energy. Kelleher leans fully into Cher’s legendary confidence, razor-sharp wit, and glamorous extravagance without slipping into caricature. She embodies the version of Cher the world recognizes instantly: bold, resilient, funny, untouchable and still somehow relatable beneath all the sparkle.
Together, this trio creates a surprisingly moving portrait of a woman constantly reinventing herself while never losing sight of who she is. The chemistry between the three performers gives the musical much of its heart, transforming what could have been simple impersonation into something far more layered and emotionally resonant.
The show also rockets through her rise with Sonny Bono, played by Nick Anastasia with effortless charm, sharp comedic timing, and a grounded sincerity that keeps the relationship feeling authentic even amid the show’s larger-than-life spectacle.

Aaron Bower shines in dual roles as Cher’s mother, Georgia Holt, and the fiery, inspirational Lucille Ball. Bower brings both warmth and humor while delivering vocals that practically rattle the rhinestones off the costumes.
Cher’s groundbreaking television success, Hollywood reinvention, chart-topping music career, and personal struggles all unfold while the production serves hit after hit after hit. “Believe,” “Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves,” “I Got You Babe,” and “Strong Enough” land with the kind of audience reaction usually reserved for descending disco balls and bottomless brunches.
Beneath the glitter, The Cher Show also gives audiences an honest look at Cher’s struggles with dyslexia. Those moments are woven into the story with tenderness and realism, never framed as a limitation, but rather as part of the resilience that shaped her legendary determination.
In a cultural moment where conversations around neurodiversity are finally becoming more open and compassionate, those scenes resonate deeply. They remind viewers that behind the impossible glamour is someone who fought hard to be taken seriously in industries that often underestimated her.
What makes The Cher Show work so well is that it understands its assignment completely. It doesn’t apologize for being extravagant. It leans all the way into the drama, sparkle, and outrageous fashion while still grounding the story in genuine humanity. One minute audiences are laughing at Cher’s razor-sharp one-liners, the next they’re unexpectedly emotional watching her fight for creative control in a male-dominated industry.
And then there are the costumes.
The wardrobe seen on the stage of The Wick Theatre is the original Tony-winning Broadway collection designed by the Sultan of Sequins himself, Bob Mackie. Costume World, owned by Marilynn Wick and her family, acquired the production’s jaw-dropping looks, and every scene seems determined to out-glitter the one before it.
Feathers fly. Sequins shimmer. Barely-there gowns defy engineering principles. It’s visual serotonin from the moment you enter The Wick. Even the lobby boasts a variety of displays featuring iconic eye candy that actually graced the Broadway stage during the show’s original run.

Whether you’re a lifelong Cher devotee, a casual fan, or simply someone who enjoys theatrical spectacle with heart, The Cher Show delivers nostalgia, empowerment, camp, comedy, resilience, and enough fabulousness to temporarily heal the soul.
As Cher herself famously said, “Mom, I am a rich man.”
After this show, audiences may leave feeling a little richer too: richer in joy, richer in glitter, and possibly richer in the sudden urge to download Cher’s entire discography before they even make it back to the parking lot.
The Cher Show is running now through May 31 at The Wick Theatre and Costume Museum in Boca Raton, Florida.
