On a 51 degree Tuesday night, which most South Florida residents would consider chilly and not meant for golf, Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL) delivered two matches inside the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens.

TGL is now in its second season, and the concept still feels like a shakeup in the best way. Instead of the usual weekend tournament pacing, this is prime time, team based match play, and built for momentum swings that happen fast and loud.

The Night’s Slate: Two Matches, One Rough Night for New York

The schedule featured two matchups involving New York Golf Club: first against The Bay Golf Club, then a second match against Boston Common Golf.

New York’s roster includes Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Cameron Young, with three players active per match.

Match 1: The Bay Golf Club vs New York Golf Club

New York took the early lead, but it did not stay comfortable for long.

The Bay Golf Club, represented in this match by Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark and Shane Lowry, outlasted New York and walked away with a 5 to 3 win.

Match 2: Boston Common Golf vs New York Golf Club

New York again flashed early, but a few shots into the virtual water sank them, and that was the turning point.

Boston took the lead and never relinquished it, rolling to a 9 to 2 win over New York.

Boston’s roster includes names like Keegan Bradley, Hideki Matsuyama and Adam Scott, and once the momentum flipped, they treated the rest of the match like a closing argument.

Each team consists of four players, with three competing in the match. Each match is 15 holes, with nine holes played alternate shot and the final six shifting into one on one matchups.
