Rising Far Above the Standard Family Getaway, Great Wolf Lodge Naples Redefines What a Family Vacation Should Be.

The Great Wolf Lodge has not only made a name for itself among other family-themed resorts, but it has become one of the biggest and most beloved brands in the country. “Wolf Out and Join the Pack” is more than just a slogan—it’s an identity built around pure, unbridled excitement. The Great Wolf Lodge is a place where youthful dreams and joy come alive in every single inch of the resort.

The centerpiece of every Great Wolf Lodge is its giant indoor waterpark. The weather is never fully predictable—especially in South Florida, where we can experience 100-plus degree temperatures followed by afternoon thunderstorms—so having a massive, indoor, temperature-controlled space is a no-brainer.

The Great Wolf Lodge in Naples fully embraces this need for both South Floridians and visitors from all over. Not only do they feature an enormous 92,000-square-foot indoor waterpark, but they also offer a large outdoor swimming area called the Great Lagoon, complete with water jets, a shallow wading area for non-swimmers, and a nearby hot tub.

Their indoor waterpark is sure to make anyone’s jaw drop. Twisting slides, splash zones, a wave pool, a lazy river, and the iconic Great Wolf Lodge bucket—ready to soak everyone around it—all combine to create a watery playground. My kids nearly dislocated my shoulders trying to pull me in two different directions.

We started in the more low-key play areas, since I had a one-year-old and a four-year-old with me. The Otter Cave Waterworks and Otter Springs were perfect for them—tons of space to explore and play, with so many hands-on water devices. And nothing beats the thrill, for a child, of repeatedly squirting their father in the face.

There were three standout slides at this Naples location. First was a pair of body slides: High Paw Holler and Forest Plume. Both were similar in style, but each had subtle differences. The Holler was faster with a steep drop, while the Plume had more turns. Altogether, the Forest Plume stretches 275 feet, making it the longest twisting body slide in the state of Florida.

Next were the two large, clover-shaped raft slides. The first, River Canyon Run, featured fun, high-banking turns. The second, Breakaway Bay, took you spinning in circles before dropping you through an opening like a gigantic toilet bowl. Excited smiles all around.

My favorite had to be the Rapid Racer, a two-person, log flume-shaped raft ride that not only descends but is also propelled upward by powerful water jets. It’s like a mini water coaster—and so much fun.

But Great Wolf Lodge in Naples isn’t just about the waterpark. What really sets this location apart is the Howlers Peak Ropes Course and the adjacent Adventure Trail.

The area stretches from floor to ceiling, packed with bridges and obstacles at varying levels. Zooming high above and around the perimeter are two long, twisting zipline tracks. While it might seem a little intimidating at first, kids of all sizes were harnessed in, laughing, cheering, and having the time of their lives.

I was also blown away by the lobby events. They provided the perfect counterbalance to the adrenaline of the waterpark and ropes course. Our day began promptly at 8 a.m., with my 4-year-old daughter grabbing a mat and joining in on the instructor-led Yoga Tails. She also participated in Arts & Crafts and Story Time.

But the real transformation of the lobby happened during the Hustle and Howl Dance Party and the Legend of Luna Lobby Show. With songs like “Roar” and the “Cupid Shuffle,” kids and their parents were dancing under laser lights and special effects.

While I’ve seen most of the standard events at other Great Wolf Lodge locations, this was the first time I experienced the Legend of Luna Show—and wow, it was incredible! Technically advanced and totally immersive, it brought storytelling to life. Massive screens wrapped around the lobby to create a dynamic backdrop. The giant fireplace even danced with magical flames. As a bonus, artificial snow fell from above, whisking us into the story and creating yet another lasting memory.

You never run out of things to do at the Great Wolf Lodge. From mini-golf to the animated Ten Paw Alley bowling, a virtual gaming and adventure site, a massive arcade, gemstone mining at Oliver’s Mining Co., and the beloved MagiQuest—there’s something for everyone.

My 10-year-old son loves MagiQuest. It starts with picking out a wand and then running around the resort completing interactive challenges. Kids were darting back and forth, working to save the Sacred Trees using the magic of the Evergreen.
