Ja Rule Is Mixing It Up—Whiskey, Beats, and Big Business Moves as He Takes Over Miami with a National Launch and E11EVEN Residency.

January 25th, 2025

Out here in Miami, the drinks are flowing, the energy is high, and Ja Rule is in his element—talking whiskey, music, and business. The hip-hop icon-turned-entrepreneur is bringing the heat, not just on stage, but in the liquor industry as well with the national launch of his Amber & Opal Whiskey. And trust us, this ain’t just another celebrity-endorsed bottle.

“You know, my four brothers got together, and we wanted to do something in this space,” Ja Rule tells me, reflecting on how this whiskey venture began. “We had an opportunity with whiskey because we previously invested in a warehouse full of it out in Ohio. As those barrels aged to seven years, we realized we had premium bourbon on our hands.”

But Ja Rule and his team weren’t about to rush the process. Instead of infusing their best barrels with honey, they sourced three-year-old whiskey from Baltimore to craft their signature honey botanical blend. “It’s an amazing blend—we use real honey, and you can taste different notes of orange with a smoky finish. It’s something you just have to taste to understand.”

For Ja, this isn’t just another business move—it’s a labor of love. “Absolutely, man. My brother Herb Rice, he’s a whiskey enthusiast. Sandy and I, we love alcohol in our own right, but my man, he’s really been taking the bull by the horns, studying the whiskey business. We’ve got a team where everyone brings something to the table, and that’s what makes this special.”

Of course, Ja Rule isn’t just talking whiskey; he’s making sure fans get a taste while he’s on the road. “We start in April—first stop is Canada. Then I head to Africa while Nelly does a UK run. We pick back up in July, and yeah, we’ll definitely be down in South Florida.”

Before all that, though, Ja Rule will be in Miami on January 25th and 26th to celebrate the national launch of his Amber & Opal Whiskey. The celebration will include a live performance at E11EVEN Nightclub to kick off his residency there, bringing the perfect mix of music and spirits to the 305.

And what about getting this whiskey everywhere? “Absolutely. We’re scaling at the right pace, and we just locked in a deal with Total Wine—100 stores in 10 cities. Plus, you can find us online at Seelbachs.com.”

With a whole warehouse full of premium bourbon, Ja Rule isn’t stopping at one product. “Somewhere down the line, we’re bringing a top-tier premium bourbon to market as well. We’re thinking ahead.”

And when it comes to collaboration, Ja is already making moves with tourmate Nelly. “He’s got his thing, MoShine, and I told him, ‘While we’re on tour, we should flood the markets together. It’s about helping each other out.”

Ja Rule is still in the studio, too. “Been working on new music since last year. Taking my time, but it’s coming.” And as for his possible return to the Fast & Furious franchise? He plays it coy: “You never know, man. We’ll see.”

Aside from whiskey and music, he’s also expanding his digital empire. “I’ve got my ICONN platform in the Apple App Store—it’s a live streaming app where up to six people can go live together. Then, there’s my ICONN Network on Apple TV, where I’m creating original content. Just grinding, man.”

With Miami being a hotbed for hip-hop, Ja hints at reconnecting with local legends. “Me and Trick Daddy already did a record back in the day, so you never know.”

From premium whiskey to a packed tour schedule, tech ventures to possible music collabs, Ja Rule is proving that his hustle never stops. Whether you’re sipping on his whiskey or vibing to his music, one thing is clear—Ja is still ruling the game.
