Fresh Flavor Meets Downtown Comfort

From Business Lunches and Remote Work Sessions to Healthy Bowls and Specialty Drinks, Crema Gourmet Does It All.

May 30th 2026

There are plenty of places along Clematis Street to grab a coffee, enjoy lunch, or meet up with friends. Few manage to blend all three experiences as naturally as Crema Gourmet.

Located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach, Crema has quietly become more than just another café. On any given day, the dining room hosts a mix of professionals conducting meetings, remote workers settling in with laptops, families enjoying breakfast, and locals stopping by for fresh juices, specialty coffee and healthy lunch options.

The moment guests walk through the door, the atmosphere sets the tone.

White brick walls, warm wood accents, modern pendant lighting and thoughtful decorative touches create a space that feels polished without becoming pretentious. A bright pink neon sign reading “All Day, Everyday” glows against one wall, while oversized communal tables and comfortable lounge seating invite visitors to linger a little longer than they originally planned.

One of the most appealing aspects of the restaurant is its versatility. The large communal table tucked toward the rear of the dining room makes an ideal setting for business lunches, networking meetings, collaborative work sessions, or group gatherings. Unlike many downtown dining spots that feel rushed, Crema provides an environment where guests can comfortably settle in and enjoy the experience.

That welcoming atmosphere is matched by a commitment to freshness that extends throughout the menu.

According to General Manager Paola, meats and cheeses are sliced in-house, croissants are baked daily, eggs are cracked individually rather than poured from cartons, and juices are blended fresh to order. It’s a philosophy that becomes apparent from the moment the food arrives.

One of the most refreshing items sampled during the visit was the Matcha Green Lemonade. Vibrant in color and served ice cold, the drink delivered a bright citrus-forward flavor balanced by the earthy character of premium matcha. The tartness provided an immediate wake-up call while remaining remarkably refreshing. It felt like the perfect companion for a South Florida afternoon and never crossed into overly sweet territory.

A dining companion opted for the Popeye Shake, a blend of banana, spinach, almond milk, almonds, vanilla protein, honey, dates, coconut flakes, and cinnamon. As someone who rarely orders shakes, he was pleasantly surprised by how approachable it was. No single ingredient dominated the flavor profile. The spinach remained subtle, the sweetness stayed natural and the protein avoided the chalky aftertaste that often accompanies health-focused beverages. The result was satisfying without feeling heavy.

That same balance carried over to the food.

The Open Face Breakfast Sandwich showcased thick slices of toasted bread layered with ham, bacon, melted Swiss cheese and perfectly cooked eggs. Rich flavors were certainly present, but the dish never felt overwhelming. The fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation allowed each component to complement the others without becoming overly indulgent.

A Roasted Chicken Sandwich delivered a similarly satisfying experience. The generous portion of chicken, combined with crisp vegetables and fresh bread, created a meal that felt substantial while maintaining the restaurant’s overall emphasis on freshness. It was filling without leaving behind the sluggish feeling that often accompanies heavier lunch fare.

The strongest representation of Crema’s philosophy may have been the Tuna Poke Bowl. Featuring ahi tuna, brown rice, arugula, carrots, edamame, scallions, avocado, cucumber, watermelon radish, soy chili sauce, and EVOO, the dish arrived looking every bit as vibrant as its ingredient list suggested.

Each component brought something different to the table. The tuna was fresh and clean, the avocado added richness, the edamame provided texture and the vegetables contributed both crunch and brightness. The soy chili sauce tied everything together without overpowering the ingredients.

What stood out most was how refreshing the bowl felt. Despite being generously portioned and packed with ingredients, it never became heavy. Every bite felt light, balanced, and energizing. It was the kind of meal that satisfies your appetite while still leaving you ready to continue your day rather than searching for a place to take a nap afterward.

A dining companion opted for the Salmon Bowl, which delivered a similarly colorful presentation built around a beautifully prepared salmon fillet, brown rice, avocado, edamame, cucumbers, tomatoes, and fresh vegetables. Like much of the menu, the focus remained on fresh ingredients and balanced flavors rather than excess.

Nothing felt heavy.

Despite sampling multiple menu items, the experience never carried the weighed-down feeling that often follows breakfast and lunch outings. Whether it was the fresh ingredients, balanced portions, or focus on lighter preparations, Crema consistently delivered satisfying meals that felt energizing rather than exhausting.

That approach helps explain why the restaurant has developed a strong following among downtown office workers. Surrounded by businesses and professional offices, Crema provides an appealing alternative to traditional fast-casual lunch options. Guests can enjoy fresh salads, bowls, sandwiches, juices, smoothies and coffee drinks while still feeling productive when they return to work.

The coffee program further reinforces that appeal. Featuring premium Italian coffee, cold brew, nitro cold brew, espresso drinks and seasonal specialty beverages, the café successfully caters to both serious coffee enthusiasts and casual visitors looking for a quality cup.

What ultimately makes Crema Gourmet stand out is not any single dish or drink. It’s the way the entire experience comes together. The welcoming atmosphere, spacious seating, fresh ingredients, health-conscious options, and community-oriented feel create a destination that serves multiple purposes without sacrificing its identity.

In a downtown district filled with dining choices, Crema Gourmet has carved out a niche as a place where people can gather, work, meet, relax and enjoy fresh food that leaves them feeling better than when they arrived.

For locals and visitors exploring Clematis Street, that’s a combination worth seeking out.

Takay Omakase Miami Opening on Coral Way Brings an Intimate 10 Seat Dining Experience

Published

on

This 10-seat omakase opening in Miami is about to be one of the hardest reservations to get. Takay on Coral Way combines high-level sushi, intentional design, and a guest experience that feels personal from start to finish.

March 17, 2026

Miami, if you love a beautifully done omakase, this is one to have on your radar.

There is a new omakase concept opening this spring on Coral Way, and it already feels like the kind of place people will be trying to get into early. Takay is an intimate 10-seat experience created by founders Glen Kotlyarski and Yoni Matz, bringing together serious culinary pedigree with a very intentional, guest-focused vision.

Let’s start with the people behind it, because that is really what defines this concept.

Chef Glen Kotlyarski leads the culinary experience, bringing more than 2 decades of fine-dining expertise. His background includes the Jean Georges group and Miami’s Michelin-starred Hidden, and that level of precision and discipline is felt in every course. His approach draws from traditional Edomae sushi techniques, while staying grounded in seasonality and balance.

Alongside him, co-founder Yoni Matz brings a strong hospitality perspective shaped by years of building and operating restaurant concepts. His influence is clear in the overall experience, which is designed to feel warm, welcoming, and engaging rather than overly formal or intimidating.

And you feel that from the moment you arrive.

The space, designed by Japan based architecture firm KTX, is quietly stunning. Guests enter through a Japanese Zen garden, setting a calm and intentional tone before stepping inside. The interior blends traditional Japanese craftsmanship with subtle Miami influence, featuring natural materials, soft lighting, and a sculptural wooden wave installation inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa. The entire room is designed to slow you down and bring your attention fully into the experience.

Takay’s omakase follows a classic Edomae style, with two nightly seatings, each centered on a 17- or 20-course progression. Seafood is flown in from Japan and paired with seasonal ingredients from local farms, allowing the menu to evolve continuously.

The experience moves through sashimi, nigiri, and composed dishes, with each course prepared directly in front of guests and thoughtfully explained. It feels interactive, personal, and immersive, making the entire evening feel intentional.

It strikes that rare balance where the experience feels polished and high-level, but still comfortable enough to fully enjoy without overthinking it.

When it opens, Takay will offer a 17-course signature omakase at $225 per person and a 20-course extended omakase at $275. Each seating includes a welcome beverage, with optional sake, champagne, and wine pairings available.

Takay is located at 2296 Coral Way in Miami and will be open Tuesday through Saturday with seatings at 6 pm and 9 pm.

In a city known for large, high-energy dining scenes, Takay introduces something a little more intimate and intentional. It is the kind of place that focuses on the details, and those are usually the ones that stand out the most.

Reservations are expected to be limited. Learn more HERE
