Marlon Wayans Brings High Energy, Wild Stories and Big Laughs to The Center in Coral Springs.

The show with DC Ervin and Marlon Wayans at The Center in Coral Springs felt like one giant group therapy session where no one was shy about laughing out loud. The crowd was as mixed as a South Florida buffet — whites, blacks, Hispanics, and a few Asians — and that diverse energy bubbled right into the performances.

DC Ervin came out first and instantly took over The Center. His brief set combined an avalanche of jokes with a bit of physical comedy that made you glance around just to make sure you weren’t the only one being called out. From relationships that make you question your sanity, to weird kids doing bizarre things, and that moment when you wonder why you ever pulled into the fast-food drive thru in the first place, he knew how to twist everyday moments into laugh out loud stories. Somehow, he flipped empathy on its head and had the whole room agreeing that life is as puzzling as it is hysterical.

Then came Marlon Wayans, bouncing onstage like he drank three espressos in the car. At 52, he moves like he’s still chasing down a bus and delivering jokes like a veteran comedian who knows how to make every person in the room feel seen. He shared unfiltered stories about family and celebrities, plus he poked fun across every culture and ALL genders, while preaching that we should all laugh too hard to be offended, it’s probably the best way to live. The guy doesn’t just tell jokes, he acts them out, sneaks in a voice or impression when you least expect it and finds a way to circle back to earlier gags like a comedian with a very sharp map.

Marlon Wayans made the night his own, blending hilarious misdirection with self-deprecation and just enough heartfelt moments to give the laughs some extra weight. His message of love, laughter and unity wasn’t a closer, but it echoed throughout the set, making it clear that behind all the wild energy was a guy who just wants people to come together and have a good time. By the show’s end, you felt like you’d been part of something bigger than just a comedy show.
