3 Doors Down and Candlebox at Mizner Park Amphitheater
Rockin’ Down Memory Lane: 3 Doors Down and Candlebox Set Mizner Park on Fire!
September 16th, 2023
The Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton was alive with nostalgia and rock energy as the “Away From The Sun” Tour featuring 3 Doors Down and Candlebox took center stage. This electrifying night marked the celebration of 3 Doors Down’s legendary sophomore album, “Away From The Sun,” as they recently released its 20th-anniversary Digital Deluxe Edition. The excitement was palpable, and fans were in for a treat.
3 Doors Down took the stage to a roaring crowd that was eager to hear their timeless hits. The band kicked off the night with a remastered gem, “Pop Song,” which had never been released before. This special moment set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The performance featured a treasure trove of mega hits, including “When I’m Gone,” “Away From The Sun,” “Let Me Go,” “It’s Not My Time,” “Be Like That,” “Duck and Run,” “Loser,” and the iconic “Kryptonite.” Each song was met with massive crowd sing-alongs that echoed through the amphitheater.
However, none of the sing-alongs seemed to match the intensity of the one during “Here Without You.” As the band played this heartfelt ballad, the entire audience became a choir, creating a spine-tingling moment that showcased the timeless appeal of 3 Doors Down’s music.
The band didn’t just play tunes; they tore the place apart with a sonic tsunami that left us all spellbound. Their connection with the crowd was like lightning in a bottle, crackling with raw energy. On this epic night, fans of all ages converged as one big, rowdy family, united by the unbridled magic of 3 Doors Down’s music. The stage was our battleground, and they were our generals, leading us into a rock ‘n’ roll frenzy that we won’t soon forget.

Opening the evening was Candlebox, who took us on a nostalgic journey back to the early ’90s. Performing tracks from their self-titled debut album, which is now 30 years old, Candlebox delivered a setlist filled with anthems that instantly transported the crowd to a different era. Hits like “Change,” “Cover Me,” “Far Behind” and “You” had everyone reminiscing about the good ol’ days.
Frontman Kevin Martin’s voice sounded as powerful as ever, proving that time has only enhanced his vocal prowess. His animated stage presence was infectious, and he succeeded in getting the crowd energized throughout the night, even though some notable tracks were left out to focus on the debut album’s performance.
Candlebox’s recent release of their 8th full-length studio album, “The Long Goodbye,” showed that the band has not lost its touch and continues to create compelling music.
