Where Every Visit Feels New at the Renaissance Festival

Where Knights Clash, Pickles Crunch and Crowds Roar, A Full Day of Medieval Mayhem at the Renaissance Festival.

February 7th, 2026

Hark and gather ‘round, good folk, for a tale most merry from the wondrous grounds of the Florida Renaissance Festival in Deerfield Beach’s Quiet Waters Park, where time itself takes a holiday and thy worries are banished like a jester with stale jokes.

On opening day, accompanied by two teenage squires new to the realm, it became clear once more… this is no mere festival. Nay, it is a full-fledged frolic through folly, feasting, and fantastical flair. Each visit shapeshifts like a mischievous bard’s tale, especially on themed weekends when the kingdom takes on entirely new personalities. With new company in tow, the experience feels fresh every time, as if the realm itself is determined to outdo its previous performance.

Prepare thy appetite, for the fare is nothing short of legendary. Whether thou art herbivore, carnivore, or somewhere betwixt, the offerings are plentiful. Yet towering above all like a culinary crown jewel is the mighty turkey leg, a glorious hunk of meat that requires both hands and a complete surrender to dignity. And lo, the pickle. Oversized, unapologetic, and served with a side of sass. The vendors, ever in character, sling not just snacks but sharp wit, turning each purchase into a performance worthy of applause.

Shouldst thou feel bold, the festival presents a gauntlet of challenges. Archery, spear tossing, axe and knife throwing… ‘tis a fine way to discover thy hidden talents or thy complete lack thereof. Jacob’s Ladder humbles even the proudest knights, while pirate ring toss, royal darts, cannon blasters, and the High Striker keep spirits high. Climb the King’s Tower, take flight at Jester’s Jump, or wander into The Maze, where many a brave soul hath entered with confidence and exited questioning their entire life path.

Ah, but the true magic lies within the performances, where every stage offers a different flavor of delight. One moment thou art swept into poetic musings fit for a royal court, the next thou art howling at raunchy humor that would make a monk reconsider his vows. Fear not, for the younger crowd is not forgotten, with plenty of playful, childlike antics to keep all entertained. And for those who fancy a bit of muddy mischief, the mud-filled shows deliver laughter most gloriously unclean.

The Washing Well Wenches reign supreme in the realm of revelry, their quick tongues and quicker wit transforming laundry into legendary entertainment while pulling unsuspecting villagers into the act. Elsewhere, magic unfolds mere inches from thine eyes, leaving thee baffled and delighted, while Celtic dancers and musicians bring a rhythmic pulse that carries through the village like a well-timed drumbeat before battle.

Then comes the clash of steel. Steel Combat storms the stage with a fury that rattles armor and awakens the crowd. Much like the grand joust, spectators cannot help but choose their champions and cheer with booming enthusiasm. Alliances are formed in an instant, loyalties declared without hesitation, and suddenly thou art shouting for a knight thou met but moments ago as if thy honor depends upon it.

The spectacle does not end there. Demonstrations of trebuchets, artillery, and thunderous cannons showcase the might and ingenuity of the era, while the Adrian Empire lends a layer of historical depth that grounds the revelry in something real. Even the darker corners, such as the Torture Expo, offer a curious and slightly unsettling glimpse into the past, proving the festival is not without its shadows.

In the end, the Florida Renaissance Festival is a splendid stew of spectacle, silliness, and surprise. It is laughter echoing through the lanes, strangers becoming allies in cheering crowds, and moments so unexpected they feel scripted by fate itself. Come for the feast, stay for the folly, and leave already plotting thy return… perhaps with a turkey leg still in hand and a tale or two to tell.

Inside Palace Bar’s Haus of Gucci Ball

Between flying queens, strong pours, and a room full of Pride week energy, Palace turned Friday night into one of the hottest parties on Ocean Drive.

April 11, 2026

During Miami Beach Pride Week, plenty of venues try to capture the moment, but Palace Bar made Friday night feel like the place everyone wanted to be. The Haus of Gucci Ball brought together drag, fashion, nightlife, and the kind of high energy crowd that made the whole evening feel elevated from the start.

The atmosphere hit immediately. Palace was glowing, the music kept the room alive, and the crowd was fully locked in. It felt vibrant, glamorous, and very Miami Beach. More than just a dinner outing, the night unfolded like a full Pride experience on Ocean Drive.

The clear highlight was a queen whose acrobatic performance completely took over the room. She moved with an incredible mix of strength, control, and confidence, turning the floor into her stage and delivering a routine that felt both dazzling and deeply seductive. At one point, she was flipping around on a man with such effortless precision that the whole crowd seemed to stop at once. It was captivating, sexy, and easily one of the most memorable moments of the night.

The food and drinks absolutely kept up. We had the filet bites and tuna tostones, both perfect for sharing between performances, along with skinny margaritas and lemon drops that were dangerously easy to drink. And yes, Palace was pouring strong, which only added to the fun. The cocktails matched the mood of the night perfectly: bold, smooth, and hard to stop ordering.

What makes Palace Bar work so well during Miami Beach Pride is that the energy never drops. The performers are not just part of the background. They pull the whole room in. The crowd responds, the music keeps moving, and the night keeps building. That kind of momentum is exactly what makes an event feel worth showing up for.

The Haus of Gucci Ball was one part of Palace Bar’s larger Miami Beach Pride Week programming, which has helped make the venue one of the biggest draws on Ocean Drive this week. With events spanning multiple days, Palace has become a go to destination for people looking for drag performances, nightlife, rooftop energy, DJs, and a crowd that wants to celebrate Pride in full.

That is what makes Palace such a fixture during Miami Beach Pride Week. It is not just about location or history. It is about creating nights that actually feel exciting once you are there. Friday night’s Haus of Gucci Ball had the glamour, the chemistry, the performances, and the kind of atmosphere that kept people fully engaged from beginning to end.

If you were at Palace Bar on Friday night, you already know how good it was. If you missed it, this was one of those Miami Beach Pride nights worth hearing about.
