Food, Family and Flavor at Rishtedar
Naan-Stop Flavor, Indian Classics get a Global Twist at Wynwood’s Rishtedar.
June 27th, 2024
At Rishtedar, you’re not just dining, you’re embarking on an immersive journey through culture, flavor, and heart. Nestled in the vibrant streets of Wynwood, this upscale Indian gem transforms every meal into an experience. From the moment you step inside, warm aromas of roasted cumin and cardamom greet you, while a Mehndi artist offers complimentary henna tattoos, which is a nice authentic touch that sets an enchanting tone.

Every Friday from 7 to 11 p.m., Rishtedar elevates the evening with a curated wine-pairing dinner: expertly designed prix-fixe menus accompanied by 15% off select bottles from the exclusive wine list. Reservations via OpenTable are the key to securing a coveted seat at this intimate and vibrant event.

Step through the door and you’re embraced by an atmosphere alive with artistry, a sanctuary of henna-inspired murals, amber lighting reflecting off copper accents, and a ceremonial hand-washing ritual that marks the beginning of a special night. Here, hospitality is elevated to an art form. With a team primarily from India, every guest is welcomed as an honored relative, not just a customer.

We began our journey with familiar favorites, transformed into unforgettable starters. The Samosas arrived first, hand-rolled, golden triangles filled with spiced potatoes and peas, their crisp shell giving way to a warm, comforting center. While the mint chutney offered a familiar cooling touch, the unexpected pineapple sauce added a bright, tropical sweetness that lingered deliciously on the palate. Next came the Pacora Mix, a medley of seasonal vegetables coated in chickpea flour and fried to a golden finish. Light, crunchy, and subtly earthy, these fritters were impossible to stop picking at.

Rishtedar’s thoughtful wine pairings elevated every bite. A chilled white wine sparkled against the spice of the appetizers, a bold rosé met the richness of the main dishes with confidence, and a sweet, lingering pour brought dessert full circle. Each pairing felt like it had been composed with a deep understanding of balance, not just in taste but in experience.
When it came to entrées, the Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani) was a showstopper, easily one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. The grilled chicken was succulent, drenched in a luxurious tomato-based curry rich with butter and cream. Each bite was so comforting, so flavorful, it had me seriously contemplating making the drive from West Palm Beach more often. Especially when paired with the stretchy, gooey garlic cheese Premium Naan, blistered just enough to add a touch of smokiness, the entire plate was pure indulgence. The Mathan Josh Curry provided a hearty counterpoint, its tender lamb simmered in a deep-red curry infused with Kashmiri chili, offering bold spice without overpowering the palate. Both mains paired beautifully with the Kashmiri Pulao, a festive rice dish speckled with raisins and nuts that added just the right amount of sweetness to balance the savory heat.

Rishtedar’s soon-to-open bar promises to become a destination all its own. Their mixology program is an innovative fusion of exotic Indian spices and modern technique. Signature creations like the Spicy Mango Masala Margarita push the boundaries of the familiar, while their bestselling mocktail, the cheekily named Kama Sudra, offers a playful, fragrant alternative that’s as layered and expressive as any craft cocktail.

Dessert was just as thoughtful and impactful. The Kulfi, denser and creamier than traditional ice cream, burst with ripe mango flavor and a whisper of cardamom, while the Rasmalai—soft, milk-soaked dumplings laced with saffron and rosewater—melted like sugar-kissed clouds on the tongue.

But what lingers longer than even the best dish is the heart of the place. Born in Chile over 15 years ago, Rishtedar arrived in Miami with more than recipes—it brought a vision. Chef Atul, trained in the elite kitchens of Marriott, lends polish to time-honored recipes, sourcing his spices directly from India through Patel Brothers to ensure authenticity. General Manager Carlos Velasquez, a hospitality expert with a global resume, describes the restaurant not as a business, but as an “emotional promotion.” And that’s exactly how it feels.
Between Thursday Bollywood dance nights, attentive service, and loyalty programs that make every guest feel like family, Rishtedar lives up to the meaning behind its name “Rishtedar”, the Hindi word for “relative.”

In a city overflowing with culinary options, Rishtedar stands apart by offering more than a taste of India, it offers a sense of belonging. Whether you’re already a lover of Indian cuisine or taking your first bite, come hungry for flavor, connection, and culture. By the end of the night, don’t be surprised if you’re already planning your return or dancing your way back to Wynwood.

Arc Culinary Where Every Bite Gives Back
This intimate chef-driven tasting experience in Broward blends elevated cuisine, live culinary artistry, and a mission that transforms lives.
June 20th, 2026
Not every memorable night out in South Florida happens at the trendiest Miami hotspot or the newest Fort Lauderdale restaurant. Sometimes, the most unforgettable dining experiences are hidden in places you’d least expect.
Arc Broward’s Arc Culinary is one of those rare gems.
More than just a dinner reservation, Arc Culinary delivers an immersive chef’s table experience where guests enjoy thoughtfully curated multi-course meals while watching talented chefs prepare and present each dish right in front of them. The result feels part fine dining, part live performance, and entirely unforgettable.
With limited seating and rotating themed menus, every event feels exclusive like being invited to an intimate dinner party hosted by some of South Florida’s most passionate culinary talent.
The real magic begins once the first course arrives.
At Arc Culinary, dinner becomes an experience. Instead of dishes quietly appearing from behind kitchen doors, guests get a front-row seat to the craftsmanship behind every plate. Watching the chefs work adds a level of connection and appreciation that transforms the meal into something far more interactive and personal.
For its recent Fresh SoFlo Summer Flavors dinner, Arc Culinary showcased a four-course tasting menu celebrating seasonal Florida ingredients with elevated technique and thoughtful presentation.
The evening began with a refreshing Florida blue crab starter served with avocado, ruby red grapefruit, hearts of palm, and a bright key lime vinaigrette. Light, citrusy, and beautifully balanced, it captured South Florida summer on a plate.
Course two brought a stunning pan-seared Florida snapper, perfectly crisp on the outside and paired with sweet corn purée and blistered cherry tomatoes. The standout element, however, was the sauce. A swap to miso chili oil added layers of umami, subtle spice, and richness that completely elevated the dish. It was one of those bites that makes the entire table pause.
The third course featured a beautifully cooked grilled filet mignon, served with roasted summer peppers, shaved fennel, arugula, and key lime chimichurri. Rich yet balanced, it delivered the kind of bold, satisfying flavor you hope for in a main course.

Dessert ended the evening on a classic South Florida note: a stunning key lime tart that was equal parts creamy, tart, and sweet.
While the food alone makes Arc Culinary worth visiting, what makes the experience truly special lies beyond the plate.
Founded in 1956, Arc Broward has spent nearly seven decades serving individuals with developmental disabilities and life challenges throughout Broward County. The nonprofit supports individuals from ages 1 to 91, offering programs that include education, employment services, behavioral health support, residential programs, and family resources.
Arc Culinary operates as one of Arc Broward’s most innovative social enterprises, using food as both a source of funding and a pathway to opportunity.
Proceeds from dinners, private events, catering, and culinary programming directly support Arc Broward’s life-changing services while also helping create hands-on training and workforce opportunities in hospitality and culinary arts for individuals with special needs.
In other words, this isn’t just dinner.
It’s a chance to support inclusion, independence, and meaningful opportunity—all while enjoying an exceptional meal.
That’s what makes Arc Culinary so special: you come for the chef-driven menu, the intimate atmosphere, and the creative flavors, but you leave with something deeper.
In a region filled with restaurants competing for attention, Arc Culinary offers something increasingly rare a dining experience that feels personal, purposeful, and genuinely impactful.
Because at Arc Culinary, every course tells a story and every bite gives back.
