From Podcasts to Punchlines: Grace O’Malley’s Stand-Up Evolution

TikTok Made Her Famous, Podcasting Made Her Unfiltered, and Now Stand-Up Proves She’s the Real Deal—Grace O’Malley’s Comedy Tour is Chaos in the Best Way.
March 1st, 2025
Grace O’Malley is a comedian and podcast host who got her big break on TikTok. That’s where I first discovered her hilarious personality, but I soon started watching her longer-form content on her former Barstool Sports podcast, which she co-hosted. Recently, she parted ways with Barstool and launched her own podcast, Disgraceful, on Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network. As someone who has followed her career for the past four years, it’s been fascinating to see her growth and how she has found her true passion in stand-up comedy.
On Friday, I had the pleasure of attending Grace’s Down for Anything Tour at Dania Beach Improv. This marks her first comedy tour, and I was excited to see her perform live. To provide some context on how she transitioned from podcasting to stand-up, she credits fellow comedian Whitney Cummings for helping her make the leap. Whitney was a guest on Grace’s former podcast, and after their initial meeting, she invited Grace to open for her on tour. With months of practice and mentorship under Whitney’s guidance, Grace gained confidence and eventually launched her own headlining tour. Thanks to her dedicated fanbase, she immediately sold out her first month of shows.
Grace isn’t the first TikToker to venture into stand-up, and the question on everyone’s mind is always the same: Are they as funny in person as they are online? The show played out exactly as I expected—Grace was just as hilarious live as she is on social media. One standout moment occurred when a fan randomly mentioned Zach Bryan, prompting Grace to confidently tell them to “shut up” before seamlessly continuing her set. It was refreshing to see her authenticity on stage, unafraid to ruffle feathers—something many in her position might shy away from due to fear of “cancel culture.”
Her humor leans heavily on self-deprecation, which aligns with her podcasting style. While it was funny, there were moments where her jokes almost made me feel bad for her—though that likely wasn’t her intention. As she continues honing her craft, I anticipate she’ll expand her comedic range beyond just self-deprecating humor.
Another highlight was how well Grace handled disruptions from a loud group of girls in the front row. She smoothly incorporated the distractions into her set, showcasing her quick thinking and ability to adapt. However, I got the sense that she wasn’t entirely vibing with the South Florida crowd. Based on her reactions, I wouldn’t be surprised if she hesitates to return to this area in the future.
Overall, I really enjoyed the show, and it was a thrill to see Grace perform in person. If I have the opportunity to catch her again, I’d wait until later in the tour to see how her performance evolves.
If you’re a fan of Grace’s TikToks and Podcasts, I highly recommend seeing her live on her Down for Anything Tour. Click here to purchase tickets for her upcoming shows across the country.
