The Nationally Recognized Regional Theatre Reveals Impressive Lineup Including: Three Tony Award Winners, A Psychological Thriller and A New Disney Classic That Will Take Audiences On “Extraordinary Journeys.”

Unveiling a spectacular selection of productions, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre extends a warm invitation to patrons to take advantage of the best seating and pricing possible to experience what will surely be a sold-out season. Aptly named “Extraordinary Journeys,” this collection of productions promises to transport audiences to captivating destinations.

“Although we are midway through our 2023/24 Season, we are eager to welcome back subscribers for next year’s MainStage productions.  Current subscribers will be receiving their renewal forms in the mail soon and are first in line to maintain their existing seat or make a request for changes.”  Andrew Kato, the organization’s Producing Artistic Director/Chief Executive admits. “Getting great seat locations, whether you are a current subscriber or want to become one is best achieved by getting your subscription form in early.  The early bird definitely gets the worm when it comes to securing seats.”  The Theatre’s current production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is receiving raves from audiences with many people shut out from seeing the production because it sold out days after it opened.  “There is literally nothing available for this production to sell, reveals Kato.  “If you’re a subscriber, you don’t miss out!”

Next season’s five MainStage lineup of Season Productions and Limited Engagements has now been announced and will be extremely popular with theatre audiences offering a wide range of genres and styles.  In addition, leadership at the Theatre have hinted that The Island Theatre, a new flexible Second Space, is scheduled to open in the fall that will add a variety of options to diversify programmatic opportunities.

The 2024/25 MainStage Season contains a great selection of thrilling adventures:

DECEIVED, Based on Patrick Hamilton’s Gaslight

The term “gaslighting” a person has become part of the public’s contemporary lexicon, however, it was coined from the 1938 British play called Gas Light.  Opening the 2024/25 season is Deceived, a mystery based on this play by Patrick Hamilton. Adapted by Johanna Wright and Patty Jamieson, this new female-empowered version, which premiered at the Shaw Festival in Canada, drops the male detective character. The edge-of-your-seat story follows a husband who is manipulating his wife into thinking she is crazy by slyly changing the intensity of the gas lights in their home when she is left alone. He does this in an attempt to make her believe she cannot trust herself or her memory. Running October 27 through November 10, 2024, patrons are invited to the North American premiere of this suspenseful journey set in Victorian London where secrets fester and nothing seems as it appears. This psychological thriller delves into the depths of manipulation, deception and paranoia with a chilling outcome that will have the audience questioning their own perception of reality.

ONCE, The Musical

Once, a low budget 2007 Irish romantic musical film, captured the hearts of filmgoers and critics alike quickly becoming a huge commercial Broadway success winning Best Musical at the Tony Awards®.  A charming, captivating tale of love and music, Once, is a fun and fresh modern-day musical about a busker and an immigrant and their eventful week in Dublin as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story.  One of the show’s songs “Falling Slowly” won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song and the soundtrack received a Grammy Award nomination.  Once, The Musical will run December 3 through December 15, 2024, and utilizes a 13-member quadruple-threat cast that acts, sings, dances and plays instruments to tell the story that speaks to the power of music and love that universally connects us all.  The magical songs, spirited musicians, and unique staging will send the audience home uplifted in love.

DISNEY’S FROZEN – THE BROADWAY MUSICAL

The 2025 New Year will thrill audiences of all ages with a musical that captured the imagination of a new generation of Disneyphiles. Loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, The Snow Queen, Frozen won Academy Awards® for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, “Let It Go.” Gracing the Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s stage, January 7-January 26, 2025, is Disney’s Frozen – The Broadway Musical.  Experience the magic of Disney in this unique adaption as Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff come to life with musical favorites like “Let It Go” and “What Do You Know About Love” supported by stunning sets and dazzling costumes.  Audiences will witness the power of sisterhood, love and self-discovery in this beautiful production that will surely melt the hearts of all ages.  This much anticipated limited three-week-only run will be the first time Frozen will be presented live in the Jupiter area.

THE LEHMAN TRILOGY

Unless you were lucky to be in New York to score a Broadway ticket to the critically acclaimed play, The Lehman Trilogy, you undoubtedly heard about its success. Written by Italian novelist and playwright Stefano Massini, it has been translated into 24 languages and was later published as a novel.  The production made its Broadway transfer following a successful West End run produced by the National Theatre in London.  The Lehman Trilogy will run at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre from February 16 through March 2, 2025, and will be the penultimate captivating performance of the season. This Tony Award®-winning masterpiece traces the rise and fall of the legendary financial dynasty, Lehman Brothers.  An epic tale of a family’s triumph and downfall explores the complex lives of three generations from humble immigrant beginnings to the pinnacle of family’s wealth and influence, to the devastating economy collapse in 2008. This production will illuminate the character’s navigation of their lives pursuing the American Dream.

GUYS AND DOLLS

Considered by many to be the “perfect musical,” the Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s final performance, Guys and Dolls will run three weeks from March 18 through April 6, 2025, and is a tuneful musical fable of Broadway based on Damon Runyon characters.  A 1966 film adaptation starring Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando and Vivian Blaine help to create legendary characters.  This is the first title that the Maltz Jupiter Theatre is repeating in the 20-year history of our organization, as it received widespread support from the audiences in a survey of theatre-goers preferences. Get ready to roll the dice and fall in love with all the saints and sinners in Guys and Dolls.  This high-energy musical set in the bustling 1950’s Big Apple, is filled with favorite show tunes like, “Luck Be A Lady” and “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat.”  Join the gamblers, the dames and the dreamers for a night of pure entertainment and fun with this Tony Award®-winning favorite!

In addition to the regular season productions, the Theatre will also be hosting an exciting lineup of limited engagement shows and benefit concerts in 2025 including The Beat Goes On (January 28), Meet Loaf (January 30), Here Comes the Sun: The Music of the Beatles (January 31), George Michael Reborn: The #1 Tribute to George Michael and WHAM (February 1), Yellow Brick Road (February 5), The Drifters (February 6), So Good! The Island Theatre

In addition to the MainStage productions and Limited Engagement shows, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre is gearing up to unveil “The Island Theatre,” a brand-new venue nestled within its state-of-the-art facility, set to open in Fall 2024. Made possible by a generous anonymous donor from Jupiter Island, alongside contributions from Babe Rizzuto and local stakeholders, this $5 million, 198-seat Second Space aims to be a dynamic hub for productions, one-night shows, and events beyond the scope of the MainStage. The Island Theatre will be an oasis where limitless possibilities come to life, catering to diverse tastes and genres. Part of the organization’s strategic plan to enhance entertainment offerings, the technically advanced flex-space interior is currently nearing completion, with a flexible seating arrangement adaptable to different production styles.

“The productions for ‘The Island Theatre’ are a well-guarded secret for now but will be revealed closer to the end of the 2023/24 season of shows,” said Andrew Kato. “We can share that it will include two additional two-week runs of dramas; cabarets by national and local artists; special one-night performances; a week of various holiday concerts; and short-run weekends that include a mentalist, comedy and a burlesque/aerial show. You won’t want to miss the experiences we are creating within this space!”
