Sips, Bites, and Beats: Highlights from The BACARDI Carnival
Food, Fun, and Festivities: A Whirlwind Experience at The BACARDI Carnival – SOBEWFF Edition.
March 1st, 2023
This year, Henry and I had the privilege of attending the closing night of the “Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival” (SOBEWFF) at “The BACARDĺ Carnival,” hosted by Andrew Zimmern. The event was a lively blend of laughter, joy, and communal spirit, with an abundance of buzz emanating from the stadium. The atmosphere was set by live music, walk-around food tastings, and an array of delicious, unlimited cocktails—a festival that left a lasting impression.
Our experience began seamlessly with convenient parking just outside The Ritz Carlton, South Beach. The North Venue entrance awaited, and with the help of volunteers, we entered without delay, immediately immersing ourselves in the festivities. Cocktails in hand, we embarked on a journey filled with culinary delights.
Our taste adventure commenced with Chef Nicolas Caiceda from “The Mad Butcher” in Wynwood, Miami, serving up two delectable smoked burgers that exceeded our expectations. The offerings from other establishments were equally impressive, including Henry’s favorite “Shrimp & Cuttlefish Ceviche” from “Taco Bamba” in Washington DC, Chef Avi’s Gluten-Free “Yemenite Fried Chicken” tenders from “Simcha,” and the tantalizing “Jerk Chicken Thigh Skewer” from “The Todd’s” in Oakland Park, Florida. These were just a few of the memorable bites that left us craving more.
As the night unfolded, we discovered new cocktail preferences, ranging from Dewar’s “French Smooth Highball” to Patron Tequila’s “Lemon Wedge” and the refreshing “Fix Your Spritz” with Grey Goose Essence. Personal favorites included the classic Patron Tequila and the delightful “Strawberry Lemonade” served by D’USSÉ.
Before we knew it, the party was winding down, but the fun didn’t stop. The overall experience of the “Food Network South Beach Food & Wine Festival” was invigorating, filled with celebration, dance, and relaxation in conveniently placed beach chairs. Notably, restroom accessibility was a breeze, ensuring a seamless experience.
Our time at The BACARDI Carnival was truly the highlight of SOBEWFF, and we enthusiastically encourage everyone to attend the next “Food Network South Beach Food & Wine Festival.” This year’s event showcased a diverse range of culinary experiences throughout South Florida, making it one of the liveliest and tastiest festivals in recent memory. “Good vibes only” prevailed, and we eagerly anticipate the next culinary adventure!
