Anberlin Performs at the South Florida Fair
Step Right Up for Singalongs and Sugar Highs, Anberlin Turned the South Florida Fair Into an Alternative Rock Midway.
January 27th, 2026
Anberlin at the South Florida Fair felt like someone figured out the perfect life hack. Ride something that spins way faster than it should, grab food that absolutely ignores all nutrition rules, then stand shoulder to shoulder with a crowd singing their lungs out to songs that helped define an era. Repeat after the show if your legs still work.
By the time the band hit the stage, the fairgrounds were already buzzing. There is something surreal about walking past funnel cake stands and carnival games while knowing you are minutes away from hearing songs that once lived in your headphones at full volume. When the opening notes of “Paperthin Hymn” rang out, that buzz turned into a full crowd takeover. Phones went up, voices followed, and suddenly it felt less like a fair concert and more like a shared memory being recreated in real time.
The momentum never let up. “Readyfuels” and “Impossible” came flying out with urgency, the kind that makes you forget you are still digesting cotton candy. “A Day Late” landed with that familiar mix of longing and punch, while “Audrey, Start the Revolution!” pushed the crowd into full singalong mode. There was no confusion about why these songs still connect. They hit fast, they hit honest and they leave no room for standing still.

Mid-set, Anberlin showed their range without losing the energy. “High Stakes” and “Adelaide” brought a darker, more atmospheric feel, pulling the audience in closer. “The Unwinding Cable Car” slowed things just enough to let the emotion breathe, one of those moments where you catch someone next to you mouthing every word and realize you are not alone in what this music means.
Then it was back to movement. “Walk Alone,” “Time & Confusion” and “Dismantle.Repair” hit with clarity and confidence, proving these songs still feel alive. The crowd fed off it, bouncing, shouting and somehow staying upright despite questionable ride choices earlier in the night.
The final stretch was pure release. “Two Graves” and “Never Take Friendship Personal” felt like open invitations to scream along without restraint. “Glass to the Arson,” “Seven” and “The Resistance” turned the fairgrounds into one big moving mass, the kind of moment where the music takes over and you stop checking the time entirely.

By the time “The Feel Good Drag” closed the night, the crowd was fully spent in the best way possible. Voices cracked, arms went up and the song felt less like a performance and more like a victory lap shared between band and fans.
And then, because this was the South Florida Fair, the night did not actually end. People spilled back toward the rides, adrenaline still pumping, debating whether a donut burger was a terrible idea or the only logical next step. A few spins on the rides later, the music still echoed, the lights still flashed and it felt like the kind of night you do not rush to leave.
All in all it seems Anberlin gave the fair a soundtrack. One minute you are screaming lyrics with strangers, the next you are laughing in line for another ride and somehow it all fit together seamlessly. That is what made this show special. It was loud, nostalgic, chaotic, joyful and completely alive.
