Florida’s Holiday Magic Carved in ICE!
Ice, Ice Rudolph: Florida’s Coolest Holiday Tradition Returns.
January 3rd, 2026
Winter in Florida usually feels imagined rather than experienced. Then the doors open at Christmas at Gaylord Palms, the temperature drops, and suddenly the season becomes tangible. Breath turns visible. Light bends through ice. The familiar weight of humidity is replaced by a crisp chill that immediately resets your senses.
What keeps ICE! feeling timeless is its ability to transform each year. The experience changes annually, telling a different story through frozen sculpture, and this season it belongs to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Ten scenes from the beloved holiday classic emerge from nearly two million pounds of ice, glowing in rich color and carved detail. Characters stand tall, expressions frozen mid moment, as if the story itself has paused just long enough for you to step inside.

The craftsmanship is staggering. Chinese master artisans and chemists work in tandem, blending precision and creativity to shape the ice and infuse it with captivating color. Over 12,000 hours are spent carving this frozen world, and during your visit, you may even catch a sculptor at work, chiseling quietly as the environment around them sparkles. It is equal parts art studio and winter dream.

Scale plays a major role in the magic. Towering sculptures surround you, while 20-foot-high ice slides rise overhead, daring you to climb and launch downward from nearly two stories up. Laughter cuts through the cold as guests zoom into the glow below, a flash of motion against the stillness of ice.

There is no prescribed path and no ticking clock. The experience is self-guided, allowing moments to unfold naturally. You pause where the light feels just right. You linger where the scene tugs at memory. Every corner feels intentional, every angle designed to pull you deeper into the story.
Nostalgia hums beneath the surface. Rudolph is a tale most people carry with them from childhood, and seeing it rendered in ice stirs something quietly joyful. This is the kind of holiday magic that feels familiar without feeling tired, comforting without being predictable.
The visuals alone make ICE! a photographer’s dream. Nearly every scene feels ready for a frame, glowing backdrops creating images that feel less like vacation photos and more like keepsakes.

Outside the frozen attraction, the holiday atmosphere continues. For an additional cost, guests can explore expanded seasonal offerings, including a cirque style stage show filled with movement and spectacle, along with hands on activities like gingerbread house decorating that add warmth and texture to the experience.
Since its debut in 2003, ICE! has grown into a nationally celebrated tradition. In 2024, 1.2 million visitors experienced it across six locations in the United States, drawn by the same sense of wonder that continues to define it year after year.
ICE! is a reminder that even in Florida, winter can arrive in full form. It can shimmer. It can surprise. And for a while, it can feel exactly the way the holidays are supposed to.
