Gothic Metal Takes Over Piper’s Pub
On a Night Where Shadows Sang, Dogma, Frayle and Faethom Rewrote the Rules of Piper’s Pub.
November 6th, 2025
“I’ve never heard of Dogma before their show at Piper’s Pub and the lineup promised a journey through the shadowy corners of doom, gothic, and metal – leaving me with a performance I won’t be forgetting any time soon. Headlining was the enigmatic Dogma, with direct support from Frayle, and a powerful local opening performance by Faethom. With a sound and atheistic similar to Ghost, Dogma finds a way to retain a unique sound that left me playing their songs on repeat on the way home.
The night began with Faethom, a Ft. Lauderdale-based metal band that has long been a staple of the South Florida heavy scene. As they took the stage, the lead singer’s voice filled the room with energy that matched the band’s blend of classic metal and progressive storytelling. Their set was tight and was the perfect opening to make the pub feel alive and primed for the descents into something darker.

When Frayle took the stage, the atmosphere and music left me hypnotized. Vocalist Gwyn Strang’s performance would leave any Sleeptoken listeners wanting more and leaving everyone mesmerized through her voice. From “Darker than Black” to their cover of “Sunmertime Sadness”, each note seemed to hang in the air, suspended in the dim light, before dissolving into the next wave of reverb. By the end of their set, the pub felt transformed into a cathedral of sound.

By the time Dogma hit the stage, the anticipation had reached its peak. Opening with “Father I Have Sinned,” the band immediately asserted their presence. Draped in black lace and veils, all of the members performed with a fierce conviction which left the audience invested in their sermon-like performance till the end.

Leaving Piper’s Pub felt like stepping out of a dream. The evening wasn’t just a concert— it was an experience. Dogma, Frayle, and Faethom each brought their own magic to the stage, weaving a tapestry of sound and spirit that created a perfect evening for creatures of the night.”
