Brandon Lake Kicks Off King of Hearts Tour in South Florida

Leading Thousands in a Night of Praise and Divine Connection, Brandon Lake Brings the King of Hearts Tour is a Revelation.

October 2nd, 2025

Everyone’s ‘Praising’ at the start of the King of Hearts Tour!

No one has exploded across so many charts and musical genres in 2025 quite like Brandon Lake. For over a decade, he has been loved and admired in the Christian music scene, but now he is being embraced by a whole new wave of fans from the Country world and mainstream radio.

His larger-than-life smash hit with Jelly Roll, “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” took the musical world by storm—or a spiritual whirlwind, if you will. This was just one of many hits that highlighted Brandon Lake’s year. He was recognized at the K-LOVE Fan Awards, taking home four awards, including ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year.’ He also earned nine nominations at the GMA Dove Awards.

I think, though, Brandon Lake had one moment in 2025 that far surpassed music or any award: he led worship at Charlie Kirk’s funeral. Over 90,000 attendees and more than 100 million viewers watched and worshiped alongside him. He told the audience at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, “I’ve never felt anything like that before. It was a greater level of revival than I’ve ever experienced, and it’s still here, now!”

Before his King of Hearts Tour began its first stop in South Florida, Brandon Lake said, “I’ve been crying, crying all day. I can’t believe I get to do this.” He was likely overcome with excitement and thanksgiving for all the Lord has done for him and how He has guided him through. Towards the end of the evening, Brandon Lake was again overcome with emotion as the crowd sang “I Have Decided,” and several people gave their lives to Jesus for the first time. He fell to his knees, covering his face in a private moment with God, and then laid down on stage as the crowd continued to sing. This was one of many moments throughout the night that went straight for the heart.

Alongside Brandon Lake were two other artists. The first was Franni Cash, formerly of the group We The Kingdom. She opened the tour, singing “Holy Water” and “Dancing on the Waves” to the delight of the crowd.

The other artist was Pat Barrett, one of the best singer-songwriters in the praise and worship genre. He started by sitting down with Brandon Lake on an extended section of the main stage, spontaneously taking song requests from the audience and jamming.

The two sang “Same God” and “Good, Good Father” to the crowd’s delight. Then something wonderful happened. Brandon Lake started singing “Miracle Child” but forgot some of the lyrics. He asked the audience if anyone knew the words. A middle-aged, heavyset man named Johnny raised his hand. They couldn’t lift him onto the catwalk, so he made his way on stage. Brandon Lake handed him the mic, and he sang the chorus. It may have been out of tune and off-pitch, but it was unplanned and perfect. They continued with “House of Miracles” and “God Did.”

Pat Barrett then took the stage solo, performing the title track of his new album, “I’ve Got a Fire,” which was released that night. He followed with the highly popular “Build My Life” and closed with the moving “Praise the Lord Forever.”

Brandon Lake humbly returned to the stage, performing the title track of his tour, “King of Hearts.” Things quickly heated up when he transitioned into “Count ‘Em.” He kept the energy at a fever pitch, running around and singing “Praise You Anywhere,” and brought Franni Cash back on stage to help with “I Know a Name,” where 14,000 people chanted together, “Dead things come alive at the name of Jesus!”

There were many younger fans in attendance, including those who had only recently discovered Brandon Lake. He played plenty of new material but also revisited fan favorites like “Gardens to Graves,” “Rattle,” “Rest,” “The Blessing,” and “Trust in God,” which brought him to tears as the crowd sang along.

He also stripped things down acoustically, highlighting his country roots with songs like “Daddy’s DNA,” “When a Cowboy Prays,” and the chart-topping mega-hit “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” The effects for this song were as stunning as the music itself, featuring two enormous red laser hands on either side of a massive circular screen attempting to lift him up.

The opening night of the King of Hearts Tour was impeccable. There was no downtime, no forgettable moments, and nothing negative to say. The night concluded with three incredible, completely different songs. First was arguably Brandon Lake’s greatest hit, “Gratitude,” which truly exploded after being featured on the TV show The Chosen Christmas Special. The audience sang every word with everything they had.

Next, “Praise” got everyone dancing and singing together. Brandon Lake even threw in a playful Cha-Cha Slide to represent South Florida. The night ended with the newer track “Ready the Weapons of Praise.” Though Brandon Lake has country roots, this song showed he knows how to rock out. Normally, he would have been headbanging and flinging his long hair, but he shared that he had recently cut six inches off.

What an amazing night! What an amazing performer! What an amazing venue! What an amazing God!
