August Burns Red: A Hot Night of Cool Riffs
The Seminal Metalcore Band Sets South Florida on Fire With an Incredible Intimate Show – Review and Photos of the August Burns Red Concert at the Culture Room in Ft Lauderdale, FL
This past Sunday, metal veterans August Burns Red electrified the stage at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, delivering an unforgettable performance ahead of their appearance on the Emo’s Not Dead cruise. The incredibly intimidate performance was a chance for their biggest fans to see them much closer than they normally get to, and as a surprise bonus the show was centered around their iconic album “Constellations“, which they performed in full. The evening began with the promising energy of local opening acts Further Within and We’re Wolves, setting the stage for an explosive night of metalcore mastery.

After the local acts finished up their sets and the crowd’s anticipation reached its peak, the lights dimmed, and “Chop Suey” began to play over the loud speakers, an August Burns Red tradition signaling that the show is about to start. Finally, as singer Jake Lurhs and the rest of the band rushed onto the stage, the unmistakable sound of August Burns Red erupted through the venue. The band wasted no time diving into the full performance of “Constellations” with “Thirty and “Seven“, captivating the audience from the very first note. The album, known for its intricate guitarwork, powerful breakdowns, and thought-provoking lyrics, was brought to life with unparalleled precision and intensity.

From the relentless riffage of “Existence” to the haunting beauty of “Marianas Trench“, each track was expertly delivered with raw emotion and technical prowess while bringing raw live energy to the studio versions of the songs. The chemistry between guitarists JB and Brent was amazing as they seamlessly navigated through complex rhythms and blistering guitar solos. Frontman Jake Luhrs commanded the stage with his commanding presence, delivering guttural screams mixed with impassioned vocals. The band’s tight-knit performance created an ecstatic atmosphere, fueling mosh pits and sing-alongs that echoed throughout the venue throughout the entire concert.

August Burns Red ripped through the now 15 year old “Constellations” like it was just written last night, and highlights of the night included standout tracks like “Meddler” “The Escape Artist” and the epic closer “Crusades“, leaving fans in awe of August Burns Red’s sheer energy and dedication to their craft. The band finished up their time on stage with an amazing encore of fan favorites “Provision“, “Fault Line” and “Composure“, and the band’s unwavering energy and genuine appreciation for their fans were evident throughout the entire set making for an unforgettable concert experience.

August Burns Red’s performance at the Culture Room was nothing short of spectacular. By revisiting the monumental album “Constellations” in its entirety, they not only paid homage to their musical roots but also showcased why they remain at the forefront of the metalcore genre. With electrifying performances from opening acts Further Within and We’re Wolves, the night was a celebration of heavy music at its finest. For fans of August Burns Red, this concert was a rare chance to see their favorite band up close and personal, and the band has never been one to disappoint.
