Winter Party Festival 2023 – REVIEW
The annual Winter Party Festival returns to Miami in support of the LGBTQ movement.
March 1st – 7th, 2023
All of Miami is no stranger when it comes to having the best parties across the globe and to match that high energy was the National LGBTQ Task Force’s 30th Annual Winter Party Festival! This celebration consisted of a weeklong back-to-back event-filled engagement with music, dance, and community advocacy raising funds that contribute towards supporting the LGBTQ movement. Originating as far back as 1993, this global event started at a time when people living in a winter climate region were looking for a fun time in a warm climate and then decided to travel South to sunny side Florida to have a beach party that would eventually last a lifetime! For anyone new who has never participated in any of the previous Winter Party Festivals, both the amount of people that attend and the exquisite high-quality experience overall gives reason and a clear understanding just why people from all over world attend this event on a yearly basis. With three reminders at this year’s festival, “Live free, play hard, and give back” the Winter Party Festival was top notch best experience I have ever had in a long time! I was left needing a vacation from the vacation!
Beginning with a reception at the Royal Palm South Beach Miami and a VIP Cocktail Reception at the Esmé Miami Beach, we had a very special and unique intimate experience with some of the members that helped make and shape events like these in the LGBTQ Community. To name a few in attendance, there was Amrit Kapai & Nicholas Kouchoukos of the TV Show “Family Karma” of Bravo TV, and in attendance was the Executive Director of the Task Force, Kierra Johnson. Throughout the evening, taking care of the music was DJ Miguel Clark who provided just the right soundtrack needed to set the tone as the evening transitioned to the next event. Along with BACARDI being one of the major sponsors, the evening flowed smoothly from an elegant soirée to the beginning of what would feel like a nonstop 7-day party! The rooftop setting at Esmé was perfection on an evening out, right before moving the party over just next door at “Exchange Miami”. That party started at 10:30pm and went on until 2:00am, which is nothing compared to what the rest of the schedule held ahead!
The festival continued with a packed schedule of dance events highlighting some of the best venues in all of Miami. To gear up for an exciting weekend ahead was the “Elevate Pool Party” all Friday afternoon at the Moxy Miami South Beach, which then continued at Studio 60 Nightclub for the “Heat” Party to end the night. Each day that continued had a similar schedule all ramping up to the biggest event, the highlight of it all, how it all began – The Beach Party! This over-the-top Beach Party experience included a VIP special priority entry, Open Bar with an exclusive Cabana Club platform behind the legendary and Grammy-Nominated DJ Abel , all with the comfort of private air-conditioned restrooms! Years and years in the making, with no doubt one can in fact call the Winter Party Festival a one-of-a-kind special edition of the world’s greatest dance party in Miami Beach!
From beach parties to late night parties, to the after-after parties – the National Task Force’s 30th Annual Winter Party Festival was a week of unforgettable moments and experiences I will always hold dear to my heart. It’s not only the festivities, which was nothing less than extraordinary – it was what their mission stands for and their position statement regarding life on this earth. That we get to celebrate life “together to learn, live, love, laugh and forge lifelong relationships.” At the scene of the party, many in attendance were living their best life and it was evident in conversation that there were also many who had come from long distances to “live free, play hard, and give back” just as they also do back home through their own personal and professional engagements. It is of no wonder that the overall experience was that people were there to kick back, have a good time, and live life with ease!
The “Winter Party Festival” is sure to deliver whether it be one night of fun, or a weeklong party packed with festivities. This National LGBTQ Task Force event allows for opportunity to give back and creates memorable moments while splurging on a good time. The party may be over now, but the buzz continues waiting for next year’s biggest event yet, coming back with the same high-energy and perhaps familiar faces that may become lifelong friends; all in one community for the sake of love.

Wynwood Art Walk and Fashion Night Out
From live murals to fashion fueled pop ups this Art Walk is wild colorful and absolutely not a stay at home night
November 6, 2025
Wynwood is gearing up for another huge Art Walk, and this time it comes with a fashion twist. On Saturday, November 8, from noon to ten, the neighborhood turns into a giant open-air celebration of art, music, and style. If you love wandering into galleries you have never heard of or discovering an artist painting a mural in the middle of the street, this is one of those days when Wynwood feels completely alive.
This month, Art Walk is teaming up with Fashion Night Out, which means more energy, more creative people, and a whole lot more to see. Fashion Night Out is a ticketed experience with panels, live music, and cocktails, while the regular Art Walk remains totally free and open to anyone who wants to explore. It is a choose-your-own-adventure kind of day, and both vibes fit right into Wynwood’s colourful personality.
The whole district is putting on a show. You can walk a single block and bump into a new exhibition a fashion pop up or an artist painting right in front of you. It is the kind of event where you will probably arrive planning to stay for an hour, and then suddenly it is sunset and you are still wandering around with a cafecito in hand.
There are tons of spots to check out but here are a few highlights you can easily wander between throughout the afternoon
Wynwood Walls is free and has a DJ and a bar so it is always a good starting point. Wyn317 is hosting a solo show by Louiedology. The Museum of Graffiti has live spray painting and a video premier with X SQUARE O which sounds very Miami in the best way. Goldman Global Arts is unveiling two new exhibitions. ARTXSPACE Paradox Museum and Fun Dimension are offering discounted admission so if you have ever wanted to try those immersive shows this is your chance.
As the sun goes down the live artists take over. Diana Didi will be at Panther Coffee from five to eight. Ivan Roque will be at Pitusa and Luis Ville will be at Society Wynwood during the same hours. The whole district feels like a walking gallery with music drifting from every corner.

Expect a lot of people a lot of art and a lot of personality. The mix of designers muralists street performers and fashion lovers makes this one of the most entertaining Art Walks of the year. Whether you are coming for the galleries or you simply want to get lost in Wynwood for a few hours it is a great night to do it.

The Queens Are Home: R House Wynwood Glitters with Athena Dion and Juicy Love
Yas Queen: Athena Dion and Juicy Love Light Up R House Wynwood
October 12, 2025
Friday night’s Yas Queen show at R House Wynwood was the kind of evening that reminds you why Miami nightlife has its own heartbeat. Hosted by Athena Dion and Juicy Love, the show brought the perfect blend of laughter, glamour, and live entertainment to a packed house that was ready to celebrate.
Athena Dion was sensational. She commanded the stage with her signature confidence, quick wit, and effortless connection with the crowd. Every line landed, every moment sparkled, and her presence tied the night together. She has the rare ability to make a full room feel like an intimate party, and you can tell the audience adores her. Juicy Love complemented her perfectly with humor, charm, and dynamic choreography that kept the energy high from start to finish. Together, they created a performance that felt joyful, polished, and completely alive.
At halftime, the spotlight opened up to the audience as a few guests were invited to strut their stuff on stage. The crowd cheered them on while Athena hyped them up from the sidelines, turning the moment into a mini runway that had everyone smiling, clapping, and living for the fun of it.
Before the show, I ordered the Miami Spice menu with unlimited drinks for only $60, and it was an experience in itself. The guacamole, tuna tartare, octopus, and burger were all outstanding, each dish bursting with flavor and freshness. We ended with coconut ice cream, creamy and tropical, the perfect finish to a vibrant meal. The drinks flowed freely, the service was impeccable, and the entire dinner set the mood for the night ahead.
By the time the final number hit, the room was glowing with applause and laughter. It was more than a drag show. It was community, artistry, and celebration all rolled into one unforgettable night.

R House Wynwood’s Halloween Playground
October 12, 2025
October at R House Wynwood is more than a lineup. It is a living, breathing experience of art, performance, and rhythm that defines Miami nightlife. The entire month unfolds like a theatrical build-up, beginning with star appearances and themed weekends, and culminating in a Halloween celebration unlike anything else in the city.
When the lights go low on October 31, R House transforms into a haunted playground of drag, electrifying beats, and beautiful chaos. It is the kind of Halloween only Wynwood could dream up: part dinner, part performance, and all-out party. Expect high-fashion horror, untouchable queens, and a sense of community that makes this stage feel like home.
All Night Drag Lineup: Athena Dion, Kylie Sonique Love, Juicy Love, T.Lo Ivy, FKA Twink, D’Vice Dion, and King Adonis.
Beats That Bite: DJ Cesar Romero and DJ Pressure Point keep the crowd moving late into the night.
Costume Contest: $500 prize for the best look, because at R House, the runway never ends.
Plus: Scary bites, signature cocktails, and full bottle service for guests ready to make the night last.
The Countdown to Halloween
The energy builds from the very start. On October 12, Bruno from RuPaul’s Drag Race Pit Crew joins Athena and Juicy for brunch, creating an atmosphere that feels equal parts show and celebration. Every table turns into a front row seat, every toast feels like an applause.
By October 17, the venue erupts in laughter and love for Freaky Friday, R House’s annual tradition where the cast playfully impersonates one another. It is a night of humor, creativity, and connection that showcases the close-knit artistry behind the scenes.
The following weekends pay homage to the music icons who inspire the queens on stage. On October 19, Juicy Love channels Doja Cat with a performance that blends choreography, personality, and pure fire. The following weekend, on October 25, Athena Dion celebrates Katy Perry with a technicolor show filled with anthems, sparkle, and playful spectacle.
Fashion lovers will not want to miss October 26, when Dahlia Sin from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 arrives with her signature edge and runway attitude. Her performance fuses couture and drag in a way that reminds everyone why R House is where artistry meets entertainment.
The Main Event: Halloween Night
The entire month leads to Thursday, October 31, when Kylie Sonique Love, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 6, takes command of the R House stage. Her performance is more than a show; it is a statement of confidence, beauty, and transformation. The atmosphere pulses with excitement as guests fill the room in costumes that rival the performers’ own.
Halloween at R House is immersive. Every costume becomes a work of art, every beat pulls the crowd closer, and every performer brings something unexpected. Kylie’s charisma and talent anchor the night, while the ensemble of R House favorites creates a full-scale drag spectacle that captures Miami at its most alive.
The Celebration Continues
The festivities do not end when the clock strikes midnight. On November 1, R House presents Day of the Dead After Dark, featuring Mhiya Iman Lepaige from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16. Hosted by T.Lo Ivy, D’Vice Dion, and King Adonis, the evening blends performance and reverence, honoring creativity, legacy, and life itself.
Throughout the month, guests can also indulge in Miami Spice’s extended run through October 31. The $45 three-course dinner and $60 two-course menu with bottomless drinks pair perfectly with the venue’s signature blend of fine dining and theatrical performance. It is a feast for every sense.
From Bruno’s brunch charisma to Kylie Sonique Love’s Halloween spectacle, October at R House Wynwood captures the heart of Miami. It is a month of music, artistry, and unity, where every weekend feels like a new chapter in the same story of celebration.
R House Wynwood is located at 2727 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami. Dinner service runs Wednesday through Saturday, with Drag Brunch seatings every Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
