John Force Roars Back to Number One Qualifier Spot and Reflects on Drag Racing Legacy.

March 18th, 2017

In a press conference during Gatornationals, funny car driver John Force discussed his recent achievements, the changes his team made, and his thoughts on his competitors. Force, who had just secured the number one qualifier spot with a time of 3.832 and a speed of 333.251, expressed his excitement at performing so well after several years. He credited the changes made to his car and the hard work of his team back in Brownsburg for their success.

Force mentioned the impressive runs of his daughter Courtney and teammate Robert Hight, highlighting the collaboration and team effort. He acknowledged the fierce competition from rivals, including Schumacher, and the importance of safety in the sport. Force emphasized the need to focus on his own performance and race day strategy rather than getting caught up in rivalries.

When asked about his relationship with Don Schumacher, Force brushed off the question, stating that he didn’t have time to dwell on it. He emphasized his respect for Schumacher’s team and drivers, but his main focus was on his own racing and the upcoming challenges. However, he did take the time to praise the young talent emerging in the sport.

The conversation turned to Force’s extensive career, and a reporter mentioned his first number one qualifier position at the Gatornationals in 1988. Force shared a humorous anecdote about encountering a small alligator during that time and how it had grown significantly since then. He also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue driving as long as he remains competitive.

As the press conference drew to a close, Force acknowledged the support he received from his sponsors and expressed his intention to attend a breakfast meeting with a new sponsor. Reflecting on his longevity in the sport, he compared drag racing to sex, stating that it only takes a few seconds to experience the thrill. Force’s enthusiasm and love for the sport were evident as he spoke with humor and passion.

John Force’s press conference highlighted his renewed success and determination to compete at a high level in drag racing. His appreciation for his team and fans, coupled with his lighthearted personality, made for an engaging and memorable conversation with the media. With his sights set on future races and further accomplishments, John Force remains a force to be reckoned with in the world of drag racing.
