The Horrorland Scream Park Miami at Jungle Island – REVIEW

Published

Miami’s annual haunted attraction a good, not great night out.

October 13th, 2024

Despite the rain, excitement filled the air as eager crowds braved the weather at The Horrorland, celebrating its fifth anniversary at Jungle Island. This year’s event lived up to its reputation as a Halloween destination, but only slightly.

Upon entering, guests encountered several brand-new haunted houses and seven scare zones, each designed with unique themes to heighten the fear factor. While two of the haunted houses, Sinister Fuel Stop and Eclipse Festival of Shadows, were intricate and entertaining, the others fell flat and were easily forgettable. Long wait times—sometimes over thirty minutes—added to the frustration, especially in the downpour, as the actual experiences felt too brief. However, the attention to detail in some of the haunted houses were commendable, with impressive set designs and chilling sound effects enhancing the overall atmosphere.

In addition to the haunted houses, The Horrorland offered interactive experiences, carnival games, and themed food and drinks. From gory-themed treats to spooky games, there were plenty of opportunities for fun beyond the scares.

Open on select nights through September and October from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., The Horrorland promises a family-friendly experience that shouldn’t be missed. With ticket prices starting at just $24, it’s a thrilling option for those looking to embrace the Halloween spirit—though be prepared for a $20 parking fee.
