A Night of Laughs with Carlos Sanchez and friends at Miami’s Manuel Airtime Theater.

April 12th, 2024

The Stand Group NYC brought Carlos Sanchez to the Manuel Airtime Theater on April 12 for a pop-up comedy show along with some special guests; host and comedian Carlos Hernandez, comedian Angelo Colina,  comedian/writer Mark Viera. This was a special night as some well-known Spanish-speaking comedians gathered to showcase their craft.

Carlos Hernandez did an exceptional job as the host, priming the crowd for each comedian who graced the stage. Angelo Colina and Mark Viera had the audience in stitches from the very beginning. Transitioning seamlessly, it was then Carlos Sanchez‘s turn to shine.

Carlos Sanchez, known as “The Stand Up Comedy King in the Dominican Republic,” made his debut in Miami in collaboration with the renowned New York City-based The Stand Group. Sanchez’s performance was a blend of observational humor, witty anecdotes and clever wordplay. He effortlessly navigated through a range of topics, from everyday quirks to social commentary, seamlessly connecting with audience members of all backgrounds.

One of the highlights of the evening was Sanchez’s ability to find humor in the mundane aspects of life. Whether he was poking fun at modern technology or sharing humorous insights into relationships, his sharp observations resonated with everyone in the theater. His storytelling skills were on full display, drawing the audience into his world with every joke.

What truly set Sanchez apart was his impeccable timing and delivery. Each punchline landed with precision, eliciting uproarious laughter from the crowd. His charisma and stage presence were undeniable, keeping the audience engaged and entertained from the moment he stepped on stage until his final bow.

Moreover, Sanchez demonstrated versatility in his humor, seamlessly transitioning between lighthearted jokes and more thought-provoking material. He wasn’t afraid to tackle sensitive subjects, yet he did so with tact and sensitivity, earning both laughs and nods of appreciation from the audience. Sanchez’s performance lasted over 90 minutes and the audience left wanting more.

The Stand Group, who made this show possible, has long been a fixture in the New York comedy scene, featuring A-list comedians and attracting the city’s funniest performers and fans. The Stand Restaurant & Comedy Club has established itself as a destination in New York City’s Gramercy Park/Union Square neighborhood by providing great service, high-end cocktails, and rustic American cuisine. Founded by brothers Cris Italia, Paul Italia, and Patrick Milligan, The Stand has been rated the greatest comedy venue by New York Magazine and TimeOutNY.

The Stand Group has announced that they will establish a 10,000-square-foot, bi-level Miami outpost of their New York City club later this year, and that they will collaborate with local partners to produce a series of pop-up comedy shows in Miami prior to their grand opening. This pop-up show was the first to come of many more.
