Beautiful: The Carole King Musical Is a Love Letter to a Legend
An Unforgettable Evening of Love and Legendary Music: Beautiful: The Carole King Musical Elevates the Broward Center with Broadway Magic.
February 21st, 2026
Slow Burn Theatre Company invites audiences to celebrate love, friendship, and the power of music with Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, the Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning Broadway phenomenon, running Friday, February 14 through Sunday, March 1 in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
“Carole King’s music has inspired generations, and this show tells the story behind the songs that touched so many hearts. Valentine’s is the perfect time to experience this journey of love, friendship, and unforgettable music,” says Slow Burn Co-founder and Director Patrick Fitzwater.
The musical features a book by Douglas McGrath, with words and music by the legendary songwriting teams Gerry Goffin & Carole King and Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil. The music is presented by arrangement with Sony Music Publishing, with orchestrations, vocal and incidental arrangements by Steve Sidwell, and additional arrangements by Jason Howland.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical tells the true story of King’s early career in Brooklyn, her inspiring journey of self-discovery, and the complexities of her personal life, focusing on her marriage to songwriting partner Gerry Goffin, the birth of her first two children, and the release of her first solo album. The bio musical follows her rise from teenage songwriter to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame icon, featuring unforgettable hits including “You’ve Got a Friend,” “One Fine Day,” “So Far Away,” “Take Good Care of My Baby,” “Up on the Roof,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” and “Natural Woman.”
Starring as Carole King is Monet Sabel, who previously performed the role on the National Tour of Beautiful. She is remarkably close to perfection in the role. Her voice mirrors King’s tone and warmth while capturing her genuine, earnest spirit. A heartfelt “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” and a soulful “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman” are among the evening’s standout moments.
Milo Alosi portrays Gerry Goffin with a strong singing voice and confident stage presence, though the portrayal would benefit from deeper emotional turmoil to fully convey the unraveling of his marriage and creative partnership.

Lindsey Corey shines as lyricist Cynthia Weil, bringing sharp comic timing and powerhouse vocals. She pairs seamlessly with Nick Anastasia as the neurotic yet endearing Barry Mann. Michael Dean Morgan is charismatic and savvy as Don Kirshner, while Colleen Pagano delivers a flawless performance as Carole’s mother, Genie Klein.
The talented ensemble breathes life into classic moments and iconic songs including “You’ve Got a Friend,” “One Fine Day,” “So Far Away,” “Take Good Care of My Baby,” “Up on the Roof,” “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling,” “On Broadway,” and “Natural Woman.” They portray artists such as Neil Sedaka, The Drifters, and The Shirelles, weaving signature 1960s choreography by Cat Pagano with vibrant costumes designed by Rick Pena.
Memorable moments include Carole King’s babysitter Little Eva rocketing to fame with “The Loco-Motion,” an elegant rendition of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” and a show stopping “On Broadway.” Yet the emotional heartbeat of the production remains Monet Sabel. Each time she sings, the audience leans in. The sound of Carole King feels like reconnecting with an old friend, guiding us through triumph, heartbreak, and artistic transformation.
