III Points Returns to Miami and Delivers A Feast for the Senses: Day One
The 2025 Edition of the III Points Festival Returns to Bring Back the Wynwood Pulse With Bass, Beats and Soul – Feature on the III Points Music and Art Festival at Mana Wynwood in Miami, FL
This past Friday, the III Points festival flung open its gates, transforming five entire city blocks into a sprawling, pulsating hub of sonic exploration, artistic expression, and unforgettable community. This wasn’t just a normal music festival taking place in an empty field — it was the activation of an entire neighborhood, a temporary city within a city dedicated to the forward-thinking and the eclectic. As the Miami sun began to dip below the Wynwood skyline, casting long shadows across its iconic murals, a familiar energy began to crackle in the air while attendees poured in.

The festival’s layout, spanning 12 stages throughout the massive Mana Wynwood convention center and stretching to the recently renovated, raw-edged RC Cola Factory, encouraged a sense of discovery. Attendees weaved through the vibrant streets, drawn by the thumping bass from one stage and the ethereal synth pads from another. One of the major focal points was the RC95 warehouse inside the factory, where in a powerful collaboration with the Miami Art Society, III Points debuted an exhibition of local visual artists. This seamless integration affirmed the festival’s mission: to be a haven for all forms of creative expression, where a painting could command as much attention as a sick bass drop.

And speaking of bass drops, the musical journey of the evening was a masterclass in curation, blending a variety of artists across all genres to ensure there was something for everyone’s palette. Phantogram provided a dose of sleek, atmospheric dream-pop, their haunting melodies and driving beats creating a mesmerizing wall of sound. The Argentine duo Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso delivered a frenetic, high-energy set that ignited the early crowds with their unique blend of punk, trap, and hip-hop. Later, the virtuosic Thundercat took the Mind Melt main stage, his fingers flying across the bass guitar as he led the audience through jazzy, funk-inflected explorations and cosmic soul, all delivered with his signature witty lyricism.

Thundercat’s tight grooves and charming stage presence was a perfect setup for the one and only Sean Paul. The dancehall icon turned the Sector 3 stage into a massive, bouncing party, with generations of fans shouting every word to classics “Get Busy” and “Temperature” in a unifying moment of pure, joyous energy. As the night deepened, the crowd was treated to a study in dancefloor dynamics as L’Impératrice transported everyone to a Parisian discotheque with their impeccable, shimmering French disco-funk. For the audiophiles and the sonically curious, the S3QU3NCE stage presented a revelation in electronic music. In partnership with L-Acoustics, the stage offered a fully immersive spatial audio experience, a technological marvel that wrapped the crowd in a three-dimensional blanket of sound in a unique, two story “rafter cube”. It was a detail that epitomized the III Points ethos—thoughtful, innovative, and deeply respectful of the art of listening.

Beyond the stages, the festival grounds thrived. The legendary Despacio, the analog soundsystem-discoteca conceived in a collaboration by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and 2manydjs, provided a contrasting yet complementary sanctuary. Its warm, vinyl-only selections and towering McIntosh speaker stacks offered a respite of pure, unadulterated disco and house, a reminder of dance music’s soulful roots. The Vendor Village was a destination in itself, a bustling marketplace of creativity and local shops. Tents overflowed with limited-edition merchandise, rare vinyl records for the crate diggers, and an array of festival costumes and unique accessories. When hunger struck, a vast and diverse array of food options awaited, from gourmet bites to local favorites, alongside bars serving everything from craft cocktails to cold beer. The party was fueled further by booths giving away free samples, with the crisp fizz of Starry lemon-lime soda, the potent punch of Beatbox beverages, and the hydrating electrolytes of Electrolit ensuring the crowds stayed energized deep into the Wynwood night.

And the energy was far from spent; while the headliners captivated the main stages, the festival’s pulse continued to beat across its 12 stages, with over 50 other artists performing. As the clock pushed past midnight, the festival transformed, with the late-night portion shifting into a driving, immersive techno and electronic marathon that kept the dedicated dancing until the official 4am curfew. Friday was a triumphant opening chapter, a 12-hour journey from funky introductions to electronic transcendence, proving that III Points is as much a community gathering as it is a world-class music festival.
