After just a brief conversation with them, my mother and I were able to secure a booking for a trip to “Kite Beach” in Cabarete. As we navigated through the bustling city towards the beach, the scenery unfolded in a way that was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Renowned as a haven for kitesurfers, thanks to its ideal proximity to a reef, the beach was littered with plenty of adventure seekers.

Yet, “Kite Beach” wasn’t alone in its surreal scenery, a City Tour brought us out to the fort of San Felipe, which gave us incredible views of the coastline and an opportunity to learn all about its important place in the country’s history. Further along the tour we also got to enjoy several samples of rum at  Macorix House of Rum.
