Welcome to the Nightmare of Alice Cooper’s Attic
Alice Cooper Turns the Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts into a Haunted Rock Vault Filled with Hits, Horror and Timeless Showmanship.
May 6th, 2026
“Hello hurray, let the show begin, I’ve been ready.”
Alice Cooper, the undisputed Godfather of Shock Rock, he will always be Uncle Alice to me, has brought his new stage show incarnation, “Alice’s Attic,” to South Florida. Proving once again, for all-time, Cooper is one of the greatest showmen in rock music. Never quite taking the character of Alice too seriously, this modern-day Vaudevillian, is quite comfortable before the lights as rock’n’roll’s ultimate villain. Slightly modifying/evolving his characterization over the past six decades, (he refers to Alice in the third person) Cooper (real name Vince Furnier, 78), has not lost his footing in rock’n’roll. He was born a legend who morphed into an Icon.
Years before there was KISS and Motley Crue, there was the master architect, AC (all his close friends call him AC) with the original Alice Cooper Band. Some 40+ years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting him in person. I found him to be one the most humble, personable, and nicest people I’ve ever met. There was no ego, delusion of grandeur, just a down-to-earth one of the guys. His real life is a thousand light years away from his stage character: a golf playing Christian family man (married to his wife Sheryl for 50 years – they just renewed their vows – she is also the principle dancer in this show), who teaches Bible study and has opened a non-profit organization, ROCK SOLID in Arizona, which gives kids (ages 12-20) free after school music, arts and vocational programs, providing a creative safe space to combat “too much time on their hands,” as Cooper himself would say. AC is the real deal.

“Alice’s Attic,” brings together one of the most catalog driven material of his stage shows to date. Not delving too far into deep cuts, he has sprinkled in some goodies we may have placed into the attics of our minds. Of course, the usual favorites are still a reveling call to his endearing career and rock purists. The horror-show visuals (which are not as scary as they were in the 70’s), abound as a staple of what to expect for an Alice show. A Frankenstein monster, decapitation by guillotine, are live show trademarks. Whichever tour of Alice’s you’ve caught over the years, he will never disappoint. Let’s face it, the show is just darn fun. Tonight was no exception.
“Billion Dollar Babies,” “The Ballad of Dwight Frye,” “Cold Ethyl,” “Poison,” “Only Women Bleed,” “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” the list continues. A culmination encore, “School’s Out” with a rousing version of “Another Brick in the Wall,” a tribute to Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” (I still don’t know the correct lyrics), and finally “Under My Wheels,” is the best one could hope for. As for the surprise tunes, the punk fueled, “Who Do You Think We Are,” timeless rockers, “Spark in the Dark,” “Muscle of Love,” “Caught in a Dream,” “Dirty Diamonds,” and “Dangerous Tonight,” added the proverbial cherry on the cake to the 22-song two-hour set.

I would be remise if I didn’t mention his stellar band. Bringing incredible energy to the show, almost matching the master himself, their three-guitar assault is deafening (in a good way, though I really couldn’t hear walking out of the theater). The group’s latest addition, British guitarist Anna Cara (22), a-fill-in for longtime member, the extraordinary, Nita Strauss, (she’s on maternity leave) Anna is visually stunning and more than capable of a searing solo or two, three, four, etc. Guitarists Tommy Henriksen, Ryan Roxie, bassist Chuck Garric, drummer Glen Sobel, are tight, right, and dynamite (corny, but it rhymes), putting on a show on their own. For the final encore, Cooper and the band stand center stage singing, “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows,” I mean, come on, aren’t we all?

Alice Cooper, the ruler of the roust, still stands tall walking the walk of a true rock legend. With no sign of slowing down, retirement is not an option, long may he reign.
