Calle Ocho Still Shining Ever So Bright
Dancing in the Streets with Latin Passion, the Calle Ocho Festival Continues to Sizzle Across Miami.
March 10th, 2024
The Kiwanis of Little Havana Calle Ocho Music Festival, A Carnaval Miami Experience presented by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida, on Sunday, established itself as the apex of Latin cultural celebration in the United States. As the largest Latin music festival in the nation, Calle Ocho drew crowds from far and wide to immerse themselves in the vibrant tapestry of Latin American cultures.
This year’s festival boasted an impressive lineup headlined by GENTE DE ZONA, the Kings of Carnaval Miami 2024, and featuring an array of popular artists including Osmani Garcia, El Micha, Lenier, El Yonki, and Los Adolescentes, Carnaval Miami 2024 spread across 15 street blocks of Little Havana and attendees were treated to an extravaganza of musical stages, international cuisine, folkloric dances, and entertainment for all ages. With its rich history dating back to 1978, Carnaval Miami has become synonymous with inimitable music, art and culinary experiences. This year’s official poster, created by Miami-based artist Danny Doya, captured the vivacity of Carnaval Miami, adding to the festival’s visual appeal.

The partnership with sponsors such as Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC, Lowe’s, and others ensured that the festival ran smoothly, offering VIP access for those seeking an enhanced experience. The Calle Ocho Domino Tournament presented By Florida Blue added an element of friendly competition, further enriching the festival experience.

The festival’s impact extended beyond entertainment, serving as a key fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, supporting their vital service projects in the local community. “If it wasn’t for Carnaval Miami, all the community projects that we do would not be a reality.” said Pablo Lau, president of Kiwanis Club of Little Havana. Pablo shared that “This is our 48th year hosting the Carnaval and we couldn’t do without our sponsors.” Some of their projects include a summer camp with over 200 kids, they adopt over 50 families during the holiday season, and they feed the elderly over Thanksgiving, and so much more.

The streets of Little Havana were surrounded by the pulsating rhythms of Latin music and the delicious aromas of authentic cuisine, people felt a profound sense of joy and belonging. Calle Ocho Music Festival 2024 was not just an event—it was a celebration of culture, unity, and the enduring spirit of the Latin American community. We eagerly anticipate returning next year to once again revel in the magic of Calle Ocho.
