No gloves, all guts and glory, Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal’s new venture turns out to be an absolute hit for MMA enthusiasts.

May 5th, 2023

Gamebred Bareknuckle 4 was another great event put on by Jorge Masvidal and his team. Incorporating boxing and mixed martial arts, it’s an event unlike any other. Did we mention, they fight bareknuckle without gloves?? The result is a barn-burner event with multiple knockouts and exciting fights. The unpredictable nature of this raw fight scene had the audience out of their seats most of the night. If you’re a hardcore fight fan looking for carnage in the ring, Gamebred Bareknuckle is definitely for you!

Our fight coverage began with Carl Seumanutafa vs Jamahl Tatum:
These two heavyweights had an intense stare down prior to the first bell. We knew it was going to be a good one. The entire fight was a give and take for both fighters as both stood in the pocket essentially giving a punch, then getting hit by one back. Although, both fighters landed a few bombs, neither could put the other fighter way. These guys were warriors for sure. However, Seumanutafa seemed to get the better of Tatum, as he would end up on top in the scrambles. Split decision went to Seumanutafa in the end. (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Irwin Rivera vs Joe Penafiel:
This was Fight of the Night in our book. Penafiel, from Peru, was as cool as a cucumber on his walkout, dancing and shaking his hips with a smile on his face. Rivera on the other hand came out looking pumped up and ready to go to war. But, when the fight started, both men showed they were ready for war. The Peruvian Penafiel was taunting Rivera the entire fight, with his hands down making faces at his opponent, looking for the counter attacks. However, Rivera was up for the challenge, putting his hands on Penafiel throughout the fight. After multiple hard punches to the face, Penefiel was covered in his own blood. Yet, he still was taunting Rivera until the final bell, even blowing him a kiss at one point in the fight.  In the end, Rivera walked away with the win via judges unanimous decision. (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Sean Soriano vs Ago Huskic:
These two fighters were very technical. You could tell both of these men have been sharpening their MMA skills for many years. Soriano seemed to be a crowd favorite, getting a massive cheer from the crowd every time he put his hands on Huskic. The first round had some great exchanges, with Soriano giving more than he took. During the 2nd round, Soriano caught Huskic on the chin, stunning him, and taking the fight to the ground. Soriano seemed to smell blood and the finish. He relentlessly drained the tank on Huskic, and was successful, getting the ref to stop the fight. Soriano wins via ground-and-pound TKO at 1:30. The fans seemed to love the carnage and went wild!

Emiliano Sordi vs Markus Perez:
An intense fight that went the distance! Perez and Sordi both showcased a deep tank of cardio. These guys went back and forth the entire fight, not letting down a bit. In Round 2 Sordi put together a few combinations that would put any other man down, but Perez just looked across the ring with a face that said “bring it.” Neither fighter was intimidated by the other and both men were content standing in the pocket exchanging blows. Both these fighters absolutely showed they deserve to be there. What a great fight and the crowd showed their love for both fighters in the end. This fight went the distance, with Sordi getting the W via unanimous decision. (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Roy Nelson vs Dillon Cleckler
The main event featured ex-UFC fighter Roy “Big Country” Nelson against Dillon Cleckler. Both fighters walked to the ring with an intense look on their face that never wavered even after touching gloves. Nelson, who’s a true veteran of the MMA world, had a look of a stone-cold killer, but Checkler seemed game for the expected brawl as well. With the crowd on their feet, these two warriors went to battle, exchanging massive blows as both looked for the early knockout.

Each of them took some shots that would probably knockout even the toughest fighters. But, while Nelson took punishment to get in there, he caught Cleckler with his signature right hand at 3:24 of Round 1, crumbling him to the mat for a proper KO. He followed up with a few shots for good measure before the ref pulled him off. The crowd went wild in excitement. This was an amazing end to an awesome night of fights and possibly the reemergence of a fan-favorite’s winning ways.
Gamebred Bareknuckle is an intense and unpredictable promotion, designed for MMA fans seeking raw carnage in the ring. This is where hardcore fight fans can see real fighters putting it all on the line.
